Had to wait for Phoebe to come out and at least spend a few days with it before even coming into this thread or trying to rank haha. Did my top 30 today though. Hell of a year it’s been. This is cut down from a list of 99 records that I’ve heard and actually really enjoyed this year.

I had completely missed that Moodymann had a new album until it started popping up on these lists. Immediately went grabbed it off bandcamp and have been wearing it out lately.

I listened to him a bit when his ST came out in 2014 and enjoyed it, but never really went back to him. Then I read someone call him the Dilla of house music and it made so much sense. So went and checked out his older stuff and have been listening to him so much sense. His new one and Sinner from last year are so god damn good.

  12. jdr2187

    jdr2187

Yeah Sinner is the one that put him on my radar, maybe I should go back and listen to some of his older material. Both Sinner and Taken Away are so good.

This is shaping up to be an absolutely ridiculous year. So much good music, not enough time to take it all in.

2020 might go down as a legendary year in music the way it's going.

    no particular order but:

    Mac Miller - Circles
    Phoebe Bridgers - Punisher
Fiona Apple - Fetch the Bolt Cutters

Need to spend more time with new Jeff Rosenstock, Charli XCX, and Soccer Mommy, but they'll probably end up on here.
