Hate TKO -> pull is unreal. HTKO doesn’t sound anything like wrong, but it reminds me of that song structurally a bit. Big departure from the rest of the album so far. Pull reminds me of another song off much love the song is vomit
Pull of it has some of Nathan’s best lyrics, for sure. They always bring it with their closers This is sorta weird to me. It feels noisier and dirtier than their other stuff, if that makes sense, but not necessarily heavy. It sounds hazy, like there’s a lot going on, but there aren’t a whole ton of crushingly heavy moments - at least not quite as much as I expected. It is less of a departure than I think I was prepared for. I think there’s more experimentation in tone and in certain moments than there is in the songs themselves, if that makes sense. Obviously I’m gonna need more listens, and anyone else who’s heard it (ahem @unbornwhiskey) feel free to disagree if you disagree. Final thought - if you like float, you’ll like he album
My family is dying and the only thing that can feed them is the album Death Is A Warm Blanket by Microwave
the "departure" is definitely overstated by both their press and the initial comments i've read about this thing. and i'd agree; it's noisier than their past work but it's also blurry and spacey and full of melody. i love how it flows together
I also love that they wrote a Big Jesus song essentially. This reminds me a lot of Lighterless and Drown in the simple barr chords tastefully done as the song structure.
