Yeah was honestly surprised they sold out in Seattle well before the show date, really happy for them.
was also surprised they sold out in portland. great show. it hadn't crossed my mind before seeing them live, but does the singing on their older songs kinda sound like the kooks at times? or is it me who is the kook?
I was honestly pretty impressed by their show the other week. I went mostly for Oso Oso, but I definitely left a Microwave fan.
I saw Microwave open for Jimmy Eat World and the Hotelier in June 2018 (the most insane lineup of any show I’ve ever been to) and I feel like Nathan has really leveled up as a live vocalist since then.
no question for me, I absolutely heard it as a leveling up. there aren't a lot of bands executing that more aggressive sound with that level of craft
Been listening to the three new(ish) songs a lot recently and really getting eager to know if they’re part of a bigger project. I wasn’t huge on any of them on first listen but repeated listening has opened them up so much, easily the most layered songwriting and production they’ve ever had
Circling the Drain and Straw Hat are incredible. Truly hope whatever the next record sounds like is similar to those tracks.
Saw them for free ln in lieu of their Riot Fest set getting canceled and they sounded fucking incredible and are getting better and better every day, Bottom Lounge is 700 cap and was still at capacity with like 6 hours notice Idk if this was an actual tease or what but Nathan prefaced Straw Hat/Circling the Drain with “here’s two new songs. Well, new-ish. But soon they’ll be new again”
Really hope it’s back to the Stovall / Much Love sound (Much Love specifically). Could never get into DIaWB despite several tries.
