"[...] Madlib's take on One Beer"
i mean, Madlib was the og producer of the song, that's kind of a weird phrasing (sorry, Pitchfork's wording of that bothered me lol)

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

yeah I'm pretty sure that's the original song they made for Madvillainy and DOOM remade it for Food later

New merch drop for the 25th anniversary of Operation: Doomsday. Managed to bag the cassette, which I missed with the MM..FOOD drop.

I bought the last reissue they did and it got me thinking about the metal fingers boxset I have and it's apparently going for $473.68 :embarrassed:

Are the demos much different from the official release?

  14. Beatwise, no, but the vocals have more energy and the sequencing is obviously different. It's worth the listen even if it's not super different from the album proper.

    Are the lyrics different?

  16. Maybe a line here or there, nothing super noticable though. Mostly vocal delivery, mixing and sequencing.

There are a few differences in the beats. They’re not massive, but there are little bits here and there that throw you when you’re so used to the album version. I’ve noticed some of the non musical samples seem to be on different tracks too.

It’s good to listen to it just to see the journey from demos to the final product.
