I hope, as a joke, their first single off their next album is called "6ym. n"

First time I saw this band I had 0 context. Hadn't ever heard a song.

They opened for Brand New I think and they came out in blue and white face paint. Singer sat on the ground the entire set with his back facing the crowd.

    I didn't like it.

Now I've seen them 6+ times and really dig almost everything they've done. Strange turnaround for me.

DUDE! Was this by any chance at the San Jose Event Center back in 2007? 'Cause this is literally my exact experience. It was my first concert.

Edit: the only difference being that I loved it

That is exactly the show. I had just graduated HS. Ha.
I think it was Thrice and brand new maybe...?

Yup! mwY was touring Brother Sister, Thrice was touring Alchemy Index, and Brand New was touring TDAG. What a show. I remember Aaron walked out wearing face paint and a backpack haha.

Oh yeah that was when Thrice had that Atlantic money and had that crazy fucking light set up that changed based on which EP they were playing thru.
I loved when Dustin used to sing the water songs through that nautical mic set up.

Fuck that show was bad ass

Right?!?! Oh my gawddd. Getting serious flashbacks right now. I remember they opened with Firebreather and fucking crushed it. The sound there was was incredible.

I've scoured youtube looking for footage from that show and I've found like one clip but this was before everyone had quality cameras on them at all times.

Edit: Also, since then, I have seen mwY live more than any other band.

Venue always sounds pretty good but I always feel weird that it's like an open gym.

Oh yeah, it's super bizarre. It's honestly surprising that it sounds so good haha. I'd wager that we've been at many of the same shows.

First time I saw mewithoutYou also. Was in Atlanta on that same tour. Still wish I had bought one of those show posters.

I was at this show! Got a Brand New shirt with that design that is now way too small for me, haha. One of my favorite merch designs ever though.

I saw them open for Coheed for the Good Apollo 1 tour. I was a freshman in high school. Friend I was supposed to go with got grounded so my mom came with me (she's a champ and dug Coheed's singles). We were standing in line and we saw this homeless looking guy walking around with a pot, eating soup out of it. He kind of creepily walked around everyone eating his soup out of the pot. He then emptied it and proceeded to rub it, it kind of a petting manner until they let us in.

mewithoutYou comes on, I've never heard of the band, and boom, the lead singer is the homeless soup guy. My mom and I are shocked. We were even more shocked near the end of their set when he ran off stage, then sprinted back WITH THE POT and began hitting it with a wooden spoon. No mics nearby, he was the only one enjoying the sonic relevance of the pot.

    What a show.

Then my mom had to sit through Blood Brothers lol.

I've seen them a few times now, and my GF came with me to see them with The Appleseed Cast and Hop Along, I think it was their Foxes ten year. She hated it for every reason I loved it, Aaron was just being Aaron. We saw him spinning along the street outside the venue before the show. I'd like to think if theres a grass hill and it's nice out, he'd be rolling down it.

@SpyKi I could watch him all day. I love going through the random Youtube videos of their live performances every so often.
