Yup they played "Rainbow Signs" and it was perfect. Let's just say I wouldn't have wanted to be Circa following up that performance from mewithoutYou. Wow.
Most rock lyricists are pretty boring imo, at least in indie rock presently. Hip-hop is mostly much better. I don't really get very into bands that aren't lyrically or narratively interesting.
I'm sure it was just January 1979 but they retitled it and changed the year in last night's performance given yesterday's inauguration.
Circa was shown up by mwY at Starland last night, wish they had been opening. Aaron is a man with his priorities straight, stopping during instrumental breaks to play with his daughter throughout the entire show. You would think it would take away from the performance, but NAH. ADORBS.
Omg I loved how he'd just smile and wave at her when I saw them, it really was adorable. I've also felt that they showed up the headliner every time I've seen them open but also I saw them open for say anything so yeah it's understandable
I'm glad I am not the only one who thought mewithoutYou just stole the entire show. Unreal live performance.
Crazy to think they're at the peak of their career fifteen years in. And with no signs of stopping or slowing down.
This band has riffs and rhythms that just pop into my head randomly even when I haven't listened to it in a while. My Exit Unfair is so urgent and great. gets my blood going every time. Popped into my head and I put it on.
