I think it's cool how much they can change it up but I'm always worried I'll get a setlist way worse than the ones they play the nights before and after. Luckily I've had very good sets every time I've seen them.
When I saw them in October they ended up playing basically all of 5 of my top 5 favorite songs by them. It was surreal.
yeah it's impossible to get a bad mwY setlist because they don't have a bad album or enough "just good" songs to constitute a meh setlist. imo, of course. Plus they're so tight live that songs I wasn't crazy about before took on new life for me in a live setting.
I just don't really want to have to sit through pre-Foxes stuff. and of course I'd love a set list of just mostly or all Foxes and B,S but that's a little less logical to expect.
I actually got into the band during A-B life, so while I prefer the new material it would be really nostalgic to hear that old stuff.
you can be wary and risk missing Disaster Tourism or Wolf Am I! or Mexican War Streets or Messes of Men...I could go on but the point is you will get at least 2-3 songs that you have always wanted to see them play because they do a really good job of picking songs that are going to please the crowd
I mean you never get a bad set but I remember looking before my date and one night they swapped out Nice and Blue 2, My Exit Unfair, Blue Hen, February and Fox/Crow for Sun/Moon, Torches Together, Watermelon Ascot, Elephant in the Dock and David's Room. That's one of my favorites from almost every one of their albums swapped out for my least favourite, ha. Sure they still played a lot of great stuff but the differences between those setlists would have been huge for me. Luckily I got something different.
I feel you. Similarly, I am worried esp having never seen them live before. Watermelon Ascot rules hard af tho. Best PH song.
This band can't play a bad setlist. They could go out there and play 7 songs that none of us had ever heard and their sheer energy / stage presence alone would make it an incredible show
They played 5 AB songs when I saw them which wasn't great but as I said before, hearing pretty much all of my favorite songs by them barring a few made up for it.
I never listen to AB Life, but hearing them bring out Silencer for the first time a few years ago was still definitely a highlight.
you put on happiness like a loose dress over pain you'll never know! the lyrics on A-B life are so good for a debut
always felt weird about this: And through a garden overgrown Oh, it's a long walk home I said I'd not come back Well I'm coming back And you'd better be alone
you're allowed to like those lyrics, i'm allowed to think they're not the best. i didn't say anything that implied or said explicitly that people should feel the exact same way about it as I do, and if someone wanted to engage in a discussion about it, that's okay too since feelings change on certain subjects.
