Their pressings and art in general is second to none. I am missing a couple. We have a big display wall and all the MWY records are up.
Circa Survive also has pretty distinct visual style across all of their albums. Also my own band but not at nearly the same level as anyone else mentioned, lol.
Keegan's annoying online presence aside, this is a great write up, and happy 10th to Pale Horses! mewithoutYou Deserve Their Flowers As One Of The 21st Century’s Greatest Rock Bands, And The Underrated Pale Horses Is A Big Reason Why
Pale Horses called out to me today out of the blue so I just put it on after work and ran through it without thinking. First time in months that I’ve wanted to put on mwY and I had no idea about it being the literal day of its 10th anniversary. This band. Special in an otherworldly type of way I tell ya.
oh man this makes me miss this band so much. loved the run of pods aaron did when the first live album came out. Red cow is still my favorite video of all time, and the audio tree set is top tier MWY. Loved untitled, but pale horses is my favorite release from them.
The end of Rainbow Signs. Remember hearing it for the first time and how it knocked my dang socks off. Especially after feeling super lukewarm on Ten Stories
I just saw this episode posted too, haven’t listened yet https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/church-jams-now/id1544099373?i=1000713109541
hard to think of a band that had more cred and couldn’t have cared less. they never stoped pushing and of all the bands from that scene they finished on such a high high. the chariot and etid come to mind being so relentless throughout their time as a band too.
calling it my favorite today Pale Horses [Untitled] brother, sister Catch for us the foxes Ten Stories it's all crazy! it's all false! it's all a dream! it's alright [A-->B] Life
Re-listened yesterday, and again today, and it's gotta be my second favorite behind Catch For Us the Foxes. Foxes Horses B,S [Untitled] C/F/D/A Stories A->B
Brother, Sister [Untitled] Pale Horses Catch For Us the Foxes Ten Stories A to B Life It's All Crazy! The fact that It's All Crazy! is as brilliant as it is in its own right and contains King Beetle and is still a pretty easy #7 album of theirs is... well... crazy.
