Some of you will probs appreciate this—I was perusing live videos and found this one where Mike busts out Paramore's "Decode" riff at the end of "The Cure for Pain." Starts around 3:30. Being friends of the band I'm guessing it's somewhat conscious/intentional? Either way, it's fun and goes pretttty hard.
i had to cancel my Pale Horses Collectors Edition preorder since i just moved and i'm in a tight financial spot gigantic fucking bummer since i've been able to order every single one of these so far but i really needed the money (i hope they restock them in the future)
Crazy how my ranking would be nothing like that but I still agree with most of the points made in the article. This band was so fucking good.
[untitled] Brother, Sister Pale Horses [Untitled] Ten Stories Catch for Us the Foxes It's All Crazy A-B Life
Brother, Sister Catch for Us the Foxes Ten Stories [A-->B] Life Pale Horses [untitled] It's All Crazy I've even grown to be a pretty big fan of It's All Crazy though. They were such a fantastic band.
Catch for Us the Foxes Pale Horses [Untitled] Brother, Sister Ten Stories [A->B] Life it’s all crazy…! I’m very close to finally letting Pale Horses overtake Foxes; it’s easily the one I listen to most these days. Like, next time this topic comes up, maybe they’ll trade spots. But, there’s a specific nostalgic, personal history element that makes it hard not to have Foxes at the top. (Both are in my top tier of albums of all time, like in general.)
Catch for us the foxes Brother, Sister It's All Crazy Ten Stories Untitled Pale Horses A-B Life It's All Crazy was my first mwY and I've still got a real soft spot for it.
S-tier: Brother, Sister; Ten Stories; Pale Horses A-tier: it’s all crazy; Untitled/untitled B-tier: Foxes C-tier: AB Life can’t bring myself to get more granular than that
This is the best single discography by any band, in my opinion. I love Catch for Us the Foxes, of course, but I have never connected with it to the level others have. But my first album was Ten Stories, so I explored their discog out of order. Pale Horses Ten Stories Brother, Sister [Untitled] It's All Crazy... Catch for Us the Foxes [A->B] Life
I think my ranking at this point would be this: 1) Pale Horses 2) Untitled 3) Brother, Sister 4) Ten Stories 5) Catch for us the Foxes 6) It’s All Crazy! 7) A->B Life But I have to note that the difference in how much I love each record is so small that it feels almost pointless for me to try ranking them. Like, if Pale Horses is a 10, A-> B Life is a 9.5 for me.
I totally agree on the microscopic degrees of difference between their whole discography. But just because I like talking about this band, mine would be 1. Brother, Sister 2. Untitled 3. Foxes 4. Pale Horses 5. It's All Crazy 6. A–>B Life 7. Ten Stories
1) Brother, Sister 2) [Untitled] 3) Pale Horses 4) Catch For Us the Foxes 5) Ten Stories 6) A -> B Life 7) it's all crazy! it's all false! it's all a dream! it's alright. There's not a weak one in the bunch though. The fact that It's All Crazy is my least favorite and still has King Beetle and Timothy Hay is just insane.
Also, album nerd here, but anyone notice the consistency of their album lengths? They're all essentially in the 40 minute range with their shortest album being only eight minutes shorter than their longest.
Articles like this about mewithoutYou should be titled ‘Album Ranked Best to Best’ because they’re probably the most consistent band I’ve come across.
It's amazing that everyone's list can vary so greatly. An album like Ten Stories can be first or last and it's not crazy and it's not false. A testament to an incredible band with incredible catalog of albums
