I almost did the same, but to this ranker's credit, that number 8 write-up reads like any other band's number 1.
what a beautiful piece! Thank you for sharing this here. It truly is sacred to share our musical journeys through this band.
I can't really picture anyone joining a new group aside from maybe Beaver. Would love to hear some solo stuff from Mike. Save my skiiiin
I read back on their reddit ama recently and they said they all may still do something musically but it won't be mwY. I forget if the context implied together or separate. Aaron solo stuff would probably be so concentrated it would blow my mind. Like, imagine Aaron's lyrics and singing voice with just a guitar. That sounds emotionally leveling
If i had to put money on it, Aaron’s the one I’d most likely say is done with music altogether. But who knows.
Mike implied he has been working on a project with some other musicians he's friends with and we would find out more after the last shows
i feel like all these guys could do lots of great music outside of mwy. ill always be interested in what theyre up to.
Greg has been livestreaming his solo stuff on Instagram the last few weeks. I think it's finally time to get into Geology.
I've tried with every release and it hasn't clicked yet. Hoping it does sometime, I'll always check it out.
I only learned recently that Mike recorded guitar for Hayley's solo album and now I can't unhear it, very cool.
Yeah that's what I'm referring to, I saw a video of him playing the guitar melody and it made sense ;D
Bought the livestream, the wife and I are making mwY-inspired cocktails and hitting play on night one in a moment, ready to cry again. Might be some stream of consciousness from me in this thread from time to time.
For those that watched this but weren't there, the video doesn't do the chaos of Torches/927/Exit justice from this angle, it was absolute madness at the heart of that crowd.
Man, I forgot how incredible "Rainbow Signs" was. I've kept my composure for most of this re-watch, but just got to "Timothy Hay" and I'm bawling, seeing Ricky sing along certainly didn't help.
crazy is the most seasonally-specific record of theirs to me. I never listen to it except in November/December and it always sounds great when i do, especially at night. Criminally underrated album.
