did anybody else know about this? All The Clever Words On Pages: A Portrait of My Friendship with Aaron Weiss of mewithoutYou
I bought the original one like 10 or 11 years ago and I wasn't a fan. It was more about the author himself than Aaron or their friendship. I bought this version though, but I haven't started it.
they got that really dope enamel pin pack up as well but it's $20 and i'm already over my budget this week. i fear by next paycheck those'll definitely be gone :(
We've both mentioned it before but everything about the band is pieced together interviews. The emails from Aaron are cool and you can see the wheels turning on some lyrical themes before an album comes out but thats about it. The more recent stuff is the same pretty much
I think my new found fondness for My Exit Unfair might have pushed Foxes just above Brother, Sister for me.
For some reason it's always been one of my least favourites on there but after seeing it live I've been listening to it a lot and it's probably in my top three for that album now. They're definitely very close for me too but I've always leaned slightly towards B,S and I think I might be leaning slightly towards Foxes now, ha. Both are incredible though.
That's so weird - me too. Foxes was always my favourite but Exit never struck me like other tracks had, however the past year or two (mostly around the time of seeing them live again) it's become a real favourite. So good.
I'm the same way with Wolf Am I! (And Shadow) That song didn't fully click for me until the past few months
whaaaaat, Wolf Am I is legitimately one of their best songs, that was when I was hooked and never looked back
Yeah Wolf was the first song that really floored me when I went back to check out their older stuff after getting into Ten Stories.
I think I used to think Nice and Blue 2 was one of the weakest when I was first listening to it which is the dumbest thing.
Along with "My Exit, Unfair", can I nominate "In a Market Dimly Lit" in the category of Most Underrated mewithoutYou songs? Because for as much love as B, S has that song isn't brought up nearly enough. "I'll spare you my goodbyes! The truth belongs to G-d. The mistakes were mine."
I think it's the weakest on B, S outside the Spider songs but that's like trying to say one angle of the Grand Canyon looks slightly less beautiful than another.
