Also, anyone have a good post-mosh youtube video yoga session they'd recommend? Because, fuck. I'm still recovering from that beautiful pit.
The shows can still be streamed on demand through the site/app Veeps. I think it said up until September 18th. https://veeps.com/browse
Everything was absolutely perfect about the last two shows (and I say this as someone who participated in the stream and I ultimately realize it was obviously not the same as being there live - which I am still envious of all of you who were). With that being stated, understood, and realized as truth.. Were there any songs that they did not play that you wish they had? I have spent most of my time listening through their discography since Saturday and I have really only come up with a few: the colored spider songs, Bear's Vision of St. Agnes, and Blue Hen Edit: wish is still too strong a word. I don't necessarily wish that they had done anything differently than they had. Maybe "would've been nice to hear" makes more sense in this context.
The Sun and the Moon, first and foremost, but also Watermelon Ascot, New Wine New Skins, and Bear’s Vision of St. Agnes
I'll also echo 'Watermelon Ascot', and I'll add 'Tortoises All the Way Down' and 'Every Thought a Thought of You'. But as you said in your edit there, there's really nothing to complain about what we got. Incredible setlist(s)!
I would have loved to see them do Four Fires (Mr. Manager says it doesn't get a big crowd reaction and it's at the top of Aaron's vocal range so that's why it doesn't get played often) and Fiji Mermaid (my dark horse favourite). Blue Hen would have been cool. But I have zero complaints about the songs they played across both nights, and even got a few I wasn't expecting (C-Minor was a very welcome surprise, wasn't positive we'd get Nice and Blue Pt.2 after they played the OG).
I honestly wasn't even really thinking about which songs they didn't play tbh but I think a big reason for that is seeing them twice last year — I think between these three shows (and a few beforehand) I got everything I ever wanted
cities on the plain is probably my favorite from that whole era but i was thinking about it before the show and i do kinda think it hits the hardest in headphones
Honestly, I was very pleased with the two setlists at the Philly shows. They really played just about everything I wanted to see from them. Between these shows, the Brother Sister show in Philly last year, and seeing CFUTF in its entirety in 2014, I’ve seen just about everything I would have wanted to see from them. Watermelon Ascot and Bear’s Vision are the only two songs that have fallen through the cracks for me since becoming more than just a casual fan since 2014. They played Bear’s Vision the first time I saw them in 2013, but I wasn’t too familiar with their discography beyond CFUTF and a few other songs here and there. Hard to believe I’ve seen them play all of A->B Life, Catch For Us The Foxes, and Brother Sister at three separate shows, as well as all but two songs from Pale Horses across multiple shows over the years. Very grateful for this band.
Just realized I’ve seen 10/12 from Untitled over the years as well as Bethlehem. Didn’t realize I had seen so much from that album since 2020
I wonder who vetoed Michael, I would have guessed Aaron haha Years ago they had this shirt design which was inspired by All Circles. I don't recall if it had any lyrics on the back or anything
So happy I remembered I owned this book. Gonna spend the week reading it again while continuing to listen to the band.
were they not playing it much on this tour at all or am i mistaken? thought that was a little interesting too
