The show for me is this Friday. Still on the fence about going. MWY was the last pre covid show I went to when they were on the Thrice tour. It was great and the setlist was perfect. Felt like a good sendoff for me if that is the last time I see them. The fact that they are putting "Fairwell" in quotes has me thinking they will likely not be off very long before continuing as a band in one form or another. I wish 68 was on this leg of the tour. They are WILD live.
Red Cow into Dorothy pretty satisfied with the set we got. only things that could’ve made this better would be Rainbow Signs & some untitled cuts.
my ideal set is somewhere in the middle of the ones we've seen thus far. but i really hope messes of men/the dryness and the rain duo make an appearance. one of my favorite duos in all of music that I'd like to see again one last time
i’m guessing more Bro/sis songs will get worked in as the tour moves along and they get further away from the anniversary tour.
I got Dr Scholl’s inserts in my vans and extra strength Tylenol so I’m ready for the pit tonight. Gonna be bawling my eyes out at the merch table buying my last tour Tee. :(((((
I got barricade. They played almost every single one of my top 5 (no 9:27a.m. :(). Mike had guitar trouble (per usual) and Aaron played Chapelcross, Goodbye, I, and Yellow Spider while he fixed it. Closed with Cure. Encore ended with sweater into all circles. I grew up listening to them. I’ve already posted enough about how much I love and what they mean to me. What a special, untouchable, irreplaceable band. thanks for everything.
They’ve played January 1979, In A Sweater & Julia on all three dates so far. Wonder if they keep that up. January 1979 is the break out single capturing that first phase, Julia represents everything that they have become and as far as I am concerned In A Sweater has to be in the encore as it creates an atmosphere that brings the whole crowd together. They’ve switched everything else up as usual. Hard to find patterns at this stage of a tour though, particularly mewithoutYou and their set lists!
Haha, never predict mewithoutYou setlists - they didn’t play In A Sweater last night (they did play January 1979 and Julia). I spoke too soon. edit: they did play it. Please ignore me.
can't believe we got a full brother sister run last night. the encore capping with torches together blew the fucking roof off. forever one of the best bands in existence.
Does anyone recall what they had for vinyl and non-shirts apparel at the merch table this tour? edit: mercy = merch
Hypothetically, if somebody was putting together a covers compilation of mewithoutYou songs, what would a good title be?
