Guy: Well I guess I won't be seeing the fareware tour. I'm not getting the shot or take a test. I'll pass <included screenshot of show guidelines> Greg: [Guy], regardless of your ideological views regarding the pandemic and vaccines (which I'm not trying to engage in this format), these measures are in place to ensure the tour can go on. It's a lot of shows and we'd love to be able to get through them so we can properly say goodbye to you all and also transition into the next chapter of our lives. You're obviously free to do as you will, but that's a little insight into why these measures are in place and why we support them. Peace to you.
Semi random topic my wife and I were just discussing: given that it's the final tour, would you prefer the band just stick to one solid, S-tier set for the whole tour, or keep doing a completely different one each night?
I think they should close with "Fig With A Bellyache" and walk off stage. And then play a killer 3-song encore.
For me the dream is all circles as their last & final note but I’m sure that’s controversial amongst deep fans
Are they really 100% never going to play a show again after this? That's hard for my brain to compute. Sad not to say goodbye with UK shows. Special band, great people. Will never forget seeing them at a venue in Kingston, it being the hottest I've ever been at a gig so Aaron ended the set early and played a load of songs acoustic out on the pavement on a beautiful summer's evening.
I feel like with the way these reunion festivals are going, I'll never trust a band that says they'll never play a show again unless it becomes physically impossible.
There was a podcast that came out a couple years back where Aaron either alluded to or outright said that he wasn’t necessarily comfortable with this bein called a “farewell” or “breakup” because he couldn’t predict what the future held. I also wonder if any of them are going to start any new projects together or individually. I know Greg has Geology, and Brandon might have his hands in stuff too. Ricky had the electronic project.
It's gotta be clear from the quotation marks that it's open ended. They are a self aware enough bunch to know they could show back up at some point in the future, but are just not promising it.
Hope they make a bunch of money off this tour and can be comfortable as they transition to whatever comes next.
Tigers Jaw got announced for the May dates. Can’t wait to find out who will be support for the rest of the tour!
Rest of the openers have been announced: May - Tigers Jaw June - '68 July & August - WHY? (Yoni and Josiah duo) End of the End - ????? They haven't suggested there will be an opener for the final two dates like they previously did for the others so I'm guessing there won't be one. On instagram, the band liked two comments that asked if the final shows will have an opener. Maybe it'll be two mega shows with two mwY sets? edit- never mind, they emailed today and said openers to be announced
