i once went to a Mountain Goats show wearing a mwY shirt, and on stage John Darnielle looked out at me and said “is that a mewithoutYou shirt? that band is huge in Australia” before going into the song ‘Heretic Pride’ lol
I have a ticket to the Seattle show as well. Last I saw, Omicron transmission is basically back to where it was at the peak of the first wave here. I want to go to the show and will if they have it, but it makes me nervous.
yeah they tweeted this is it, there is no postponing the tour. if the band catches covid they'll cancel shows/the tour, but not reschedule
they play a here a week from tomorrow. right now, new infections are over double of what our previous peak was. fucking thing sucks.
I have tix to CHI & SEA. I am not planing to goto CHI based on my personal comfort level (no judgment on anyone who thinks differently) & am sadly assuming the SEA will be canceled because I can’t see how they don’t get COVID before then.
Did anyone else order the poster? I want to still have that even if the show gets cancelled and I can't remember if they're going to ship it or if we were supposed to pick it up at the show. Edit: shit, just looked it up and you have to pick it up at the show. Hopefully they have a plan B to ship since I'm basically assuming Seattle is cancelled
They sounded incredible tonight. Took all precautions possible here, including a barricade for the venue that I’ve never seen them do before to have more space between the crowd and stage.
I’m glad I ended up going. They sounded phenomenal. I don’t listen to them as much as I did a few years ago, but I’d still go to war for Brother, Sister. The show has also made me go back and revisit the rest of their discography and damn. There will never be another band that did it like them.
Yeah I about lost it during Rainbow Signs. I’ve also never seen them do Son of a Widow, so that was a huge highlight.
there’s still plans for a final final tour this summer/fall, right? at least I hope so. will help me not regret skipping tonight as much.
need everyone seeing them tonight to wear 2x mask and stay as far away from the boys as possible so I can see them tomorrow in Denver. Wish I could get in the pit for Wolf but we'll be standing at the back of the venue to be safe :( sucks that these last few shows the crowd and the band won't get to go as hard or interact as much together like they normally do, but hopeful that everyone stays safe and we can see the band out despite the circumstances
Hope they do. Felt the same way, stood in the back and enjoyed it how I could. Crowd was very respectful and mask enforcement was strong. Maybe for the farewell tour it’ll be better :(
