Rickie Mazzotta - Sound Profile Interview — Philadelphia | Earmark Hearing Conservation Looks like a big part of the health issues Rickie was alluding to have to do with hearing loss and Tinnitus. Wear earplugs, folks.
Just caught that article. i've only been wearing plugs to shows in the last 5 years. Wish I'd started sooner!
i used to be a no-earplugs person but then i started playing drums in a band and it rapidly became untenable. so. very relatable rickie :(. earplugs rule
Abe Cunningham rules and Digital Bath is probably my favorite drum groove of all time. Playing it is difficult enough. Get the feel of it down? That’s an even more difficult task in and of itself
He has dozens of amazing songs but Digital Bath is always the first thing that pops in my head with him. That opening is just insane, lol. Dope that one of my favorite drummers loves him as well.
Cunningham probably has the best sounding production of any drummer I’ve ever heard. They’re extremely crisp and every tiny impact is crystal clear. Damn, he’s good
I only got to see Deftones once but it was the tour with Dillinger Escape Plan opening and Greg came out and did Passenger with them. Holy shit, soooo dope
That sounds incredible. Every time I’ve seen Deftones, Chino has always sung the guest vocal part. I was kinda hoping Tim from Rise Against, or even Dustin from Thrice, would come out and do the part when I saw them on tour a few years ago considering Tim had previously done the part at a festival a couple years back at that point in time, but, alas, it was just Chino
I’m not a Deftones mega fan or anything but if you’re even vaguely into interesting loud rock, they’re a must listen. At least White Pony.
This is the closest I've got to liking them. Finally coming around to the instrumentation. Still need struggle with the vocals. Digital Bath is a great song though.
Dang, they couldn't just convert it to a mwY headline show? I guess that'd be weird. Never heard of that happening, but it seems like a waste.
