I enjoyed it to begin with, then I went off it for a while (around when Ten Stories came out to be fair), but now I love it. There’s only Fig With A Bellyache that I don’t always enjoy on a musical level.
Anyone see Rickie’s instastory? Essentially he’s had some health issues over the last 5 months and didn’t know if he’d ever get back on stage. They even had a back up lined up for the Thrice tour. Apparently he’s going to push through. Hope he’s ok - it must be hard going into a final year with something that could snatch that end away from you. Hope he can finish the year well and whatever is impacting his health doesn’t prevent him performing. I also hope he doesn’t feel he needs to push himself too hard just to play.
Damn, hope he ends up okay. One of my favorite drummers to watch. Would love to see him be a part of the final year of the band's regular activity
According to reddit, Aaron is going to be on Dustin Kensrue's "Carry the Fire" podcast . Patron's of the podcast are encouraged to submit their questions in advance.
I love every album they've done except this one. I cannot even make it through the full album and have tried multiple times as recently as September 2019. I don't even know what it is but I always lose interest and turn it off after 2-3 songs.
It’s all good since you still love the other stuff, haha I guess it must be the style of music doesn’t vibe with you? Because the lyrics are still pretty deep and full of great lines and jokes and quips or whatever. Maybe start on track six next time, lol
I still think about the line in Cattail Down where Aaron assures his mom they left the bag of marijuana behind.
It's the music for sure, also his voice feels....obnoxious on this one haha. But I'll definitely try other songs maybe out of the album context I'll appreciate them more.
I’m not a fan of It’s All Crazy either, but all their music has grown on me over time so I have faith!
Their set tonight was really good considering it was confined to so few songs. I do wonder if Aaron was sick or something though, cause he took it very easy on the vocals. Screamed on the first couple songs and then refrained for the rest of the night even though there were parts where he typically goes nuts
Could also just be that he needs to warm his voice up for the tour. I imagine plenty of initial shows on the tour have that warming up process, while the end of tours can sometimes finds artists worn down.
Funny thing about this band is that looking at setlists as an indicator for what they’ll play the next night is useless considering how often they switch up their setlists
