This is one of those bands where my album ranking is just in chronological order. I really like each album more than I liked the one before it. Pale Horses is flawless.
can we talk about how amazing It's All Crazy is?? such an overlooked album and probably the best (and most original) twist on the Neutral Milk Hotel formula I've ever heard!
I love It's All Crazy. Really the only album I don't totally love is A -> B Life. Fox, Crow & Cookie, Goodbye, I, Bullet to Binary Pt. 2, Timothy Hay, Cattail Down, King Beetle and Allah are all so good. Really everything on there is though. I get why so many people don't like it, it is a heavy departure from what the band normally does, but I've always loved it a ton.
Anyone who lives in the UK probably already knows, but they're doing a headlining tour around the Coheed support dates: 8/19 Nottingham - Bodega Social Club 8/21 Leeds - Brudenell Social Club 8/26 Cardiff - The Globe 8/27 Plymouth - The Hub 8/28 Southampton - Talking Heads 8/29 Brighton - Sticky Mikes Feeling so lucky that they're playing my city twice in a year! Never imagined this happening, given that they didn't come over for almost 10 years. Super cool.
I love each album since AB Life, which just isn't a style of music I ever developed a taste for. Any of the last four could be my favorite on any given day.
My favorite thing about mwY is Aaron's outlook on spirituality and the meaning of his words. Like, he's so so aware of the fact that there are many interpretations but he also likes the rhythmic quality of language and not every line has to mean something. Honestly, his current view on religion and God has somewhat shaped my own personal religious "journey" and I'll always be a huge fan and very interested in what he has to say.
Yeah I just had this thought. There wouldn't be any sense in them buying a new bus if they didn't have plans to use it.
They announced a Euro tour before they got the bus a while back, so I'm surprised people think they're planning to break up. They seem to be more active than they've been in a long time.
yeah, post-IAC was a scary time, but I haven't had any thoughts of them breaking up since 10 Stories came out.
I was surprised to see that the Say Anything /mwY Split 7" was on Apple Music. But then I got bummer out when I realized mwY's track isn't on there, only Say Anything's.
