First listen: Ah, man, I don't know how to feel about this. Why can't I hear his vocals? Second listen: Okay this isn't a barn-burner but it's alright and I'm sure the album will be fine. 34th listen: Jesus Christ, why is this only four minutes long?!
New hidden website text today: Ploughshares gone swords, we were the scourge of the earth. So was the scene at al-Aqsa. They could barely taste my pancreas that day. Fire and the flood, there is power in the blood With all the stars in the ground and Noah's ark in the clouds. Have you ever felt like Noah on an overcast day?"
“Have you ever felt like Noah on an overcast day?” Wow Reminds me of “Have you thought much about that cry?”
Anyone in the UK know if this will be out on Big Scary Monsters as well, or via the band’s own UK store?
Big Scary Monsters tweeted about it so my guess is yes. Rumour is the EP part of this release is going to be dropped on Friday. I don't know but I would love that if it were true! What a line. I love Aaron. Very insightful - I've always wondered how he wrote his lyrics.
Further comments from Mike Almquist (manager) on Aaron's vocal mixes: "You know I never had an issue with any of the vocal mixes on past records but a lot of people said that about Pale Horses, which I think is bizarre. However the No Friend mix is regrettable in my opinion. Aaron wasn’t involved in that process at all, but if he was he probably would’ve put an effect on his voice an had it buried. The mixing engineer for that song basically just lowered the volume. It never sounds right to me." I'm the same with Pale Horses, I don't have any issues. I like what I hear with the new song but it definitely seems more hidden than Pale Horses. It will be interesting to see if that continues throughout the record(s) or whether it was something specific for this song. The No Friend stuff is just interesting information. I do wish you could hear him more on that track.
love the side notes and alternate things Aaron puts in his lyrics book for the fans. wasn't there a Nick Fury reference in Rainbow Signs at one point? what a man/lyricist
Yeah, I reeeeaaaallly wish I could hear him more on No Friend. It’s still a rad track, but it would have been super cool to have a Paramore song with Aaron going off lol
