You have all the lines and I love it. Always makes me laugh. With how they were talking in 2009 when It’s All Crazy came out I honestly never expected another album. The fact that we’ve got three full lengths (and an EP and a live album/DVD) since then is just incredible. I’m thankful every time I hear they’re recording as I remember the feeling when I thought that was it. When they announced Ten Stories I was so surprised. They seem to be going from strength to strength at the moment so I’m in two minds about them finishing. On the one hand I’ll be super sad because I love new mewithoutYou and Aaron is the best lyricist on the planet. On the other hand I respect them so much and I’m so thankful for these post-2009 releases that I never thought would happen that if they think it’s time to hang it up I’d say good for them. I’d definitely be sad though.
I’ve not listened yet. I watched the lyric video on silent though. I figured I might as well start thinking about lyrics that take 6 months to even begin to understand.
Yes and no. I think the lyrics have picked up from Pale Horses and you can see some of the more personal bits - they hit you straight away. I am talking about the small references that can take a long time to unpick! Whereas Catch For Us The Foxes and Brother, Sister had a lot less of that.
Honestly I just kinda resign to the fact that Aaron is probably referencing something in every song that I most likely have zero knowledge about
i like the idea that there's a lot to discover and that I'll pick up meanings and references years down the line, I'm not normally fussed over knowing everything right away.
Haha. It hit me recently that half the things I post are stupid puns. I have a problem and I don't mind.
Bethlehem, WV second verse, the one line sounds like they spliced together different takes. I believe it says "ideas all/Their own..." Has this been discussed yet? Am I crazy? Also, do we know the length of the album yet? Curious if the lp+ep will fit on one cd
I commented on that weird vocal wiggle when it first came out but haven’t read anything about it since. I don’t mind it, but it’s a weird choice to leave it there.
What on earth Kevin. I thought the internet had successfully dug up all my nostalgia by now. That is a DEEP cut.
