Me too. I think I'll always have some memories attached to Julia that will elevate it above the rest. That's perfectly fine, the last album I remember that happening with was Repine by PBTT. Fell in love with the whole album, but that song was released as a single, and it never wavered as my favorite on the album.
Speaking of Colour Revolt side projects. Jesse has one too called El Obo. Only released one record but it's also quite decent.
El Obo was OK. I liked a few of his songs. Never checked out Greater Pyrenees. I think I checked out the Fletcher record a long while back but didn't vibe with it too much. Maybe I'll revisit it after my discog run. They were such a special band. I wish that Jesse was still active in music.
Have I made myself? And MY. SELF. CLEEEEAR?! (Goodness, these are the Aaron Weiss vocal deliveries I live for. I love this so much.)
I know I know but we’ll live!!! We’ve got a real good release week this week, then two weeks that I don’t have a lot on my radar but I’ll prolly find something, and then it’s one of the most important release weeks of the year!!!
I wasn't either but it's growing on me. First half rules. I still haven't gone through MWY old stuff after being absolutely captivated by the EP and Julia (and now the new song), so now I'm gonna try working my way from Pale Horses backwards. Listened to some of the Brother, Sister songs y'all said Hydra sounded like, and those were sick.
I'll throw some of my thoughts in here as I'm listening for the first time. You might get a kick out of it. So, there are people who were surprised at Aaron's aggressiveness in the new song? did they listen to Pale Horses? Specifically Mexican War Streets?
I saw someone mentioning it on Twitter. I'll link if I see it again. Red Cow is awesome. I've enjoyed every song up to this point.
A lot of people have commented things like “Heavy mwY is back!” as if Pale Horses never happened. The band finally responded to someone’s tweet with a list of heavy Pale Horses songs. Haha.
Still holding strong on not listening to new track. All these Color Revolt off-shoots should keep me distracted enough.
I think the new song is heavier than anything on Pale Horses but people who think that album doesn’t go hard as fuck are so wrong
If I didn't have the nostalgic emotional attachment to B,S that I do, Pale Horses would be my clear favorite. I listen to it all the time.
