Anyone in here ever listen to Levi the Poet's album Correspondence (A Fiction)? Not casual listening on a musical level, though I love Andy Othling's accompaniment, and most of Levi's other stuff is more explicitly Christian, but his storytelling moves me deeply and that album's lyrics are definitely more universal. Easily my favorite artist who does spoken word stuff outside Aaron Weiss. IMO he's really carved out his own path within that art form.

You are very right. I always get Alex Sugg and Andy Othling (Lowercase Noises) mixed up and I don't know why.

Edit: Never mind. I know why. They do a lot together. Hahaha.

Edit #2: And Andy Othling DID mix and master and produce Correspondence. I was so close!

I don't know what happened with the last, like, seven pages of this thread but my take is the following:

Listener - Amazing and super slept-on IMO.
La Dispute - Never a band I've fully fallen for but I liked a lot of Wildlife and Rooms of the House, as well as their split with Touché Amoré.
I can see the similarities to mwY in both bands but the comparison only goes so far.

Anyway I think I'm getting my review copy of [Untitled] soon.

 

Do these guys do interviews? Curious if I should be looking forward to a write up of something somewhere...

 

Rickie and Mike did one on the Parahoy cruise earlier this year. Rickie is probably the most vocal these days.

Aaron used to do a lot but he’s hard to pin down (see the Bad Christian podcast interview where he turned up to the phonecall late and doesn’t even own his own phone).

Around the release of Pale Horses they did quite a few interviews so hoping it will be the same this time but you never quite know with them!
