"From what the rest of us could tell Dad tried his best but finally fell Apart at just my age" just destroys me
Another surprise for me is that these new songs sound so differently than Pale Horses from a production point of view.
i think cities of the plain is my favorite song by them now. i actually can’t think of another song that makes me feel the way that one does
For me, I can tell that they've reached a new echelon in song writing and experimentation outside of the box, which is exciting on its own but is indicative of how talented they are and hoping the album pushes those same types of boundaries on the heavy end. Edit: I believe a part of it is being a fan for so long, over 15 years now, and the idea that they can still surprise me at this point is unlike any other artist I've followed.
I'm not ready to rank it in comparison to their other work yet, I think it's too soon for that, but quality wise, I think it's pretty much on par with any of them.
on a west virginia road on a west virginia road .... iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii did just as i was told
Church bells in Winter Solstice for me. Such a cool touch. This is a subdued release, but there are so many layers. I don't know if others will agree, but the instruments give me strong TWIABP vibes.
I love nearly everything they’ve done, but this is the first release that I don’t think his singing style wouldn’t be described as an acquired taste.
I guess I’ll agree to disagree. Nearly every person I’ve showed them to over the years says they can tell get into them because of his voice.
there is normal singing there plenty of Ten Stories, Son of a Widow, sprinkled about on B,S its interspersed between all his other primarilly unorthodox usual stuff. but its there and its always been good.
No I know what you mean... if you show this band to someone that isn’t a bigger music fan, or someone who isn’t into music leaning to “weird” territory, they will think mwY is.. uh, weird. This isn’t me saying I think this band is weird sounding at all. This is me saying the average person who only listens to Drake and Adele and Taylor Swift are gonna hear this band and be like wtf
one of the songs, Kermits like “shepherd shepherd, shepherd,.... shepherd shepherd” cant remember which one
