Seriously. If we all email them to change the release date or we’ll cancel our pre orders will they do it? Of course we won’t actual cancel our pre orders though
one of my absolute favorite moments/lyrics in a mwY song is def this one And in the morning, we rest in Corinthian headdress On couches of ivory And wake in the moonlight Like badgers at midnight To friends made in factories somewhere You'll know where to find us, our best years behind us Barefooted pilgrims at shrines of our youth: 'Our joy was electric, our circles concentric...' Converging on statues of permanence
also, the end of that song where he drops the line "comfort your family, with words like eternity" gets me every time.
Let me get in on this lyric love: Oh Christ, when you're ready to come back I think I'm ready for you to come back But if you want to stay wherever exactly it is you are That's okay too - It's really none of my business
Labrador was locked through the promontory rock She called down, said "time is an illusion An inconsequential shift as the continents drift" But my confidence was crushed... and I miss you regardless You kept your distance out of fear you'd break But what good's a single windchime hangin' quiet all alone? The music our collisions would make Is the sound that turns the road that leads us back home into home
Just dropping in to say I can't stop listening to Julia and I hope the whole LP is like that song. Okay carry on.
It's from a lyric by Yoni Wolf, the best lyricist outside of Aaron Weiss, in a few of his songs but referenced here: To be born as anything but this The dying wish of a dinosaur's dish Of no use, a shitty gift like a single slipper I go diffuse in city quick like the Little Dipper It's also used in a cLOUDDEAD song and they're amazing as well
That reminds me of one of my favorite lyrics: You, my hidden pearl of pure and perfect love And I'm the living example Of 100% the opposite of this
I love that album, but Alopecia and Eskimo Snow are both revelations. I heavily urge you to listen and read those albums. They're up there with mewithoutYou albums for me. Good Friday Feels exciting touching your handwriting Getting horny by reading it and repeating "poor me" Intently staring at the picture of your feet on the sticker At the R. Crumb exhibit I wonder who's sicker Eskimo Snow And I'm under something black And thicker than a sheet for ghosts Or the first feet of snow that old That old clouds yield On the crosses On the chests of dead soldiers in a field Then I'm Then I'm still here Bearing my watery fruits, if fruits at all Then I'm still here Barely understanding what truth that rarely calls
This is total conjecture but I wonder if part of it just has to do with the fact that they are an American band playing there???? Like maybe that’s a draw, I dunno
Yeah who knows. I wanna try and find interview from around that tour to see if they mention how big the shows were
Glad that top 10 songs ranking idea has been quickly put to one side - an impossible task for a band such as this. Thinking about favourite lyrics is much more enjoyable as everyone has their own story to tell. Does Aaron have the biggest vocabulary in music?
from my understanding, bands usually do REALLY well in the Asian markets, regardless of how big they are here. same thing happened to the Swellers when they opened for Paramore in Malaysia. That being said, the Paramore fan base has pretty much wholly embraced mwY, since they're Hayley's favorite. That's how I originally heard about them when I was a teenager. :')
Does anyone remember Waking Ashland? I interviewed them a lonnnng time ago now, but they said that their records sold hugely in Asia, and their shows there were always much bigger.
