I've never had the chance to see these guys live. I'm waiting for them to come to Australia with the patience of a saint, haha
They were my first concert. Opened for Thrice and Brand New. I had heard Brother Sister and was not a fan at all. Then Aaron came wondering out with a backpack on and his face painted and they started playing and blew my fucking mind lol. This isn’t meant to sound like a brag, but I’ve probably seen em 12 or 13 times now. I will just drop anything to catch them lol. Sadly, the one tour I actually couldn’t make it to was the CFUTF tour. I’m gonna buy like 5 tickets for their upcoming tour and force people to go with me lol.
so many of my friends saw them on that Thrice tour too and holy fuck, if I could turn back time and get myself into these guys earlier, I probably would have flown to America to see that. sounds absolutely incredible. unfortunately it was around 2012 when I finally got into these guys - the only exposure I'd had to them before that was some weird mashup of January, 1979 and It's Dangerous Business by Underoath lol
holy shit, that's them! they also had a Coheed/Senses Fail mashup and a Funeral for a Friend/Dashboard Confessional one didn't they? those were my adolescence lmao
not totally certain how songs like "cities of the plain" and "august 6th" exist in the world but i'm glad they do
no one's favorite mwy album is a to b life but god parts of it rip so hard, i love "the ghost." i'm sorta wondering if i'd like the live version better. i love a good j. robbins production but it makes them sound like a completely different band (which, i guess they were at this point)
if you would be so kind as to tell me two things I would greatly appreciate it/you what’s your favorite song on the lp? is it as intense and as much of a shift in sound as they described?
yes sure! 1. my favorite song is shifting constantly, at the moment however it is "flee, thou matadors!" which is basically pale horses and ten stories combined 2. if pale horses is the apocalypse [untitled] is the post-apocalyptic scorched earth landscape. it's kinda insufficient to describe it as either hard or soft, it is often both somehow. idk if this answers your question; the press release seems basically accurate to me though
Don’t you mean [Untitled] with an uppercase “U”? Geez, you can’t even spell the album right. You aren’t worthy of it and should hand it over to someone more responsible this instant.
Reset my password and logged in to chime in that A>B Life is my favorite mwy album. haha. I love everything that came after and realize it's objectively better music, but I have an emotional connection to it, having discovered them right out the gate and remembering that time and everything this band opened me up to. and I like that it's hard. ha.
aw this is awesome. i'm having a great time listening to it this morning and i think "silencer" is a really amazing song that could've been on several of their records
Maybe ill do a discography listen today. Tbh, I appreciate all their releases, but Pale Horses was the first one I really loved and latched onto.
I can’t believe this fucking ep - been listening non stop and I like it more than the last two albums!! this ep + lp might turn out to be god tier and I wasn’t expecting that because in my mind the band peaked a long time ago (while continuing to be really excellent which is so rare and why they are one of my favs!) but this changes everything
i'd always known about this band from at least foxes on and always intended to get into them but ten stories was where i first jumped on. in a few ways it's occasionally still my favorite mwy album
I need to do a discography run soon. I did one not long ago but that excluded A to B Life and It’s All Crazy! I need to reacquaint myself with both of those albums.
