@Serenity Now everything besides Pale Horses & Untitled was released on Tooth and Nail. Also when Anberlin announced their final year they went back to this label to put out their last album. I don’t have my hopes super high. They said in the announcement to expect reissues, but the guy that owns this label has said mewithoutYou was his “indie cred” band on multiple occasions, so if there was going to be a label that would put out a final album it would be T&N
Probably a ‘Greatest Hits’ album from Tooth & Nail so they can capitalize on mewithoutYou ending being a hot topic.
I’m pretty certain that’s about Slick Shoes and has nothing to do with mewithoutYou. I’m expecting independent re-releases from mewithoutYou, nothing more sadly.
They gotta have some unreleased/unfinished material floating around somewhere. Would be great to get a release similar to Pale Horses : Appendix if they felt like it. Then again, ending on [Untitled] & [untitled] is pretty rad too.
There was only one unfinished song from the [untitled] sessions and then I seem to remember reading an interview from the Pale Horses era that they had never recorded b-sides until Ten Stories. They used to just go in and record an album and that was it. It would be cool if it was the case or if something new does come... I can’t imagine a world where I’m not anticipating a new mewithoutYou record.
It’s not that unusual. There’s a lot of bands who just don’t do b-sides. I can’t speak for any of them, obviously, but I think a lot of it can result from writing thematically, chronologically, or with the vision of the album guiding the writing process
Makes me wonder how many potentially great songs they wrote but didn’t think were good enough to bring to a studio. There has to be quite a few sitting on the writing room floor.
Man threw on untitled last night, and I think it’s their best since B,S still. Ever felt like Noah on an overcast day?
Brother, Sister and [Untitled] are the band’s two great masterpieces in my eyes. I say “great masterpieces” because Pale Horses and Catch For Us the Foxes are also masterpieces. This band’s just a masterpiece.
"I've arrived home, that was a good drive! Let me finish Hydra and go inside" [...] Currently on the closer, haha!
geez lttp on this breakup news and p bummed about the idea of not getting more new material from them
great great band. this whole genre they created starts and ends with them and everything else is comparatively irrelevant. they are peerless and total masters of their craft.
