They’ve been teasing breaking up since like It’s All Crazy lol. This is just the actual time that they act on it
This news makes me feel surprisingly emotional. Not even sad necessarily, just...damn. There's never going to be a band like this again. That being said, the Untitled records are easily their greatest accomplishment in my eyes, and a perfect final statement. It feels appropriate. Seeing them next year is going to be so bittersweet knowing it's the last time.
im strangely at peace with this. if they go out on the untitled's, what a fucking incredible run. arguably the best discography of all time. such a special band. they deserve to go out on their terms and we'll have gargantuan amount of music to remember them by
In 2009 I would have been devastated (indeed, with all the rumours, I was). In 2019 I am oddly content. My only hope is that they pop over to the UK one last time.
It would be cool if they were able to pull together a farewell tour and have "bigger" bands open for them.
I don’t know if another full length could top Untitled. Maybe a farewell EP more in the vein of untitled EP. I think that would be perfect.
might consider flwying out to philly for what i assume will be their final show. can't imagine how incredible it will be.
I hope they play a pretty big venue for the last show. I guess anything but Boot and Saddle again lol
Probably one of the few bands I listen to that I consider every single album they have released to be great.
what about several nights at boot and saddle, each night playing 1-2 albums in full to a super small crowd i hope they bring out some brass for the b,s tour
fuck that, same people would get tickets for the all the shows or youd be screwed and get stuck seeing the album shows you dont care about as much, etc. and soooo many people would never even get a chance to grab tickets for any of them. they need to play the biggest venue they possibly can. you want your ending as a band to be accessible, not exclusive.
Last time I saw them in Philly, they played at the Theatre of the Living Arts and didn't sell out. Capacity is 1,000.
