From an email they just sent out about the collectors edition: It has been over 7 months since pre-orders for the [Untitled] EP/Album Collector's Edition began back in August 2018. This highly-anticipated, limited release is one that we have also been especially reserved about when discussing a ship date. The only indication we have been able to give our customers was that it would ship sometime in 2019. That is until now. We received word earlier this week that the [Untitled] EP/Album Collector's Edition will arrive at our facilities in late June and we plan to have all pre-orders shipped by July. Admittedly the process for delivering this special release has taken a lot longer than we expected. In addition to the already lengthy turnaround time of vinyl production, we also ran into several unexpected quality control issues that delayed things further. This is largely due to the experimental nature of the packaging along with some other unforeseen logistical issues. We can also assure you though that the time spent addressing these issues has been beneficial in improving the overall quality, value, and scope of the collector's edition. We are very excited to deliver this unique piece to our fans and we appreciate your support as well as your patience in this process.
I'm so excited to see what they cooked up this time, it sounds amazing. I do wish there was a way to get prints of the actual album/ep artwork outside of the bundled deluxe though - couldn't swing the extra cost with the shipping and exchange rate. I already have the EP as my phone wallpaper and LP as my tablet wallpaper, but it'd be nice to hang on the wall.
Pale Horses [untitled] ep and lp Ten Stories Brother, Sister Catch for Us the Foxes it’s all crazy a/b life
Obviously none of y'all saw the A->B tour. Such a great friggin' show, such high energy. Unlike the shows after it's all crazy, which were the worst shows I ever saw this band perform. At least crazy gave us "Every Thought a Thought of You." Anyways, to officially put my ranking in list form: Foxes Pale Horses Untitled Ten Stories Brother Sister A->B crazy
Though, the real question is, what are your top 10 mwY songs? Has that been discussed recently? I know that "Fox's Dream" has solidified itself as my #1, but hard to say beyond that. "Carousels," "Messes of Men," & "Mexican War Streets" are all up there for sure.
That [A->B] Life tour was so amazing. Outdoor set, too. Very fun show. Top ten songs, wow. Idk if I could do that.
I personally thought that the "holy shit is this band going to break up on-stage" energy of the it's all crazy! ... shows was super compelling lol I fucking love that album, too.
I sadly didn't catch it because they only played one UK anniversary show but I did get the DVD/live album and it looked amazing. There is a certain energy to [A-->B] though and think it's great that they captured that by celebrating that album in such a way. As we all know, the band were ripping apart and not happy at all after it's all crazy so it's understandable that the shows at that period were terrible. Sad, but understandable. In some ways (and there's probably limited demand for this) but I'd love to see them revisit it's all crazy in a live setting. Songs like Timothy Hay can really kick off in present day, so it would be cool to see what they could do with that album if they channeled the energy that they have as a band. Oh also, I 100% agree on the Every Thought A Thought Of You love. I genuinely don't know where to start with top 10 songs. It's hard enough to rank the albums, ha!
Alright, I'm gonna attempt to answer my own top 10 question. Whether y'all are down for that challenge or not, lol. Fox's Dream of the Log Flume Carousels Mexican War Streets Messes of Men Julia (or, 'Holy to the LORD' on the Bells of Horses) January 1979 Every Thought a Thought of You Blue Hen Bullet to Binary Winter Solstice That's maybe accurate for how I feel on this particular day.
January 1979 Paper Hanger Messes of Men C-Minor O Porcupine Fox’s Dream of the Log Flume Mexican War Streets Red Cow Another Head for Hydra Michael, Row Your Boat Ashore That’s my best guess. Man, I guess I really like heavy mwY.
Nice & Blue pt. 2 Paper Hanger Wolf Am I! Every Thought a Thought of You King Beetle on a Coconut Estate Fox’s Dream of the Log Flume Rainbow Sign Chapelcross Towns Winter Solstice [dormouse sighs]
I don't know that these are my definitive top 5, but these are the 5 songs that immediately came to mind when thinking about this topic: Torches Together Wolf Am I! (And Shadow) Watermelon Ascot Rainbow Signs Julia (or, 'Holy to the LORD' On the Bells of Horses)
Hmm...I'll give this a shot: A Glass Can Only Spill What It Contains C-Minor Cardiff Giant Nine Stories Watermelon Ascot Mexican War Streets Lilac Queen Bethlehem, WV Julia (or, 'Holy to the LORD' On the Bells of Horses) New Wine, New Skins
Was really close to including it, but decided to go w/ "Blue Hen" as my second Pale Horses song. But, like, "Watermelon Ascot" is so good. Love the hymn outro.
