One day they’ll find us Feathers on a tiger’s body Quiet as a clear blue glacier lake ...And it won't matter how long you waited for the deluxe to ship
Hoping this is a situation where some Tigers Jaw fans leave after their set because fuck this venue for overselling this place so much
I wish Tigers Jaw played first on the show I saw a few months back. I missed mwY's set and was livid. TJ does nothing for me.
It's now over six months since [Untitled] came out, which has given me enough time to properly digest the album and consider how I would rank this stellar discography. I don't like to jump into a ranking game after a few days of listening to something. I still go with Brother, Sister & CFUTF at the top because my emotional connection to them is hard to ignore. I prefer Pale Horses to [Untitled] as well, but only just. The thing that most surprised me about [Untitled] is that I was drawn to it more on the musical side of things than the lyrical - this is the first ever time this has happened to me with Aaron Weiss lyrics (not that the lyrics are bad, I just think they may be so personal to Aaron that they haven't connected with me as much as previous releases. I hope that makes sense.) These albums are separated by the smallest of margins. What a privilege it is to have had so many releases from this phenomenal band! Hope we get a UK tour at some point on this cycle. Brother, Sister Catch For Us The Foxes Pale Horses [Untitled] [untitled] e.p. Ten Stories it's all crazy [A-->B] Life Pale Horse Appendix I never said I was brave
so insane to see ratings and think about how good the 7th or 8th item on the list always is. one of the most special bands out there...
I think the lyrics work on Untitled in a very specific, different way that's grown on me since the album came out. They really do work the same way the title & artwork do, especially coupled w/ the musical style. It's like the most fully realized version of Aaron's deconstruction & wrestling w/ meaning, truth, etc. Works in an almost impressionistic way. It didn't hit me the way I thought or hoped when it came out, but it's been quite the album to sit with on certain days, depending on where my mind & heart are that day. Anyways, yeah, Foxes will always be my #1, & (only counting full lengths) it's all crazy will always be last, w/ A->B just above it. I think Pale Horse is still my #2 & an album that could be #1 w/out nostalgia, but Untitled has become a very strong #3; those top 3 together are what I'd consider top tier mwY.
[Untitled] has probably hit me harder on a lyrical level than anything they’ve put out since B, S honestly.
I’d probably put the Untitled’s above Pale Horses right now, but this is pretty accurate for me, too.
Brother, Sister [Untitled] Pale Horses Catch For Us The Foxes [untitled] - EP Ten Stories it’s all crazy! it’s all false! it’s all a dream! it’s alright. [A -> B] Life And every one of them is so good.
That was a great read. Interesting perspective on Foxes, and It's All Crazy. A lot of stuff I didn't know about the band.
I've tried ranking them over and over and I really can't be definite in any order. They're all amazing for their own reasons.
[untitled] (album and ep) ten stories tie: brother, sister / pale horses catch for us the foxes it's all crazy a b life
