Don't worry y'all, Connor from Smidley said this was Mewithoutyou's penultimate tour so we've got one more after this. Nothing to cry about...
this might be my favorite of theirs but also I have thought that about every single one of their albums at some point or another
Need to gush about this record a bit... I’ve been especially touched by Break On Through (To the Other Side) [Pt. 2] lately. Lots of biblical allusions that personally resonate with me, but the line “is every day a thousand years for anyone with ears to hear?” hits hard. It feels like a gentler callback to that first question on the record (“Anyone listening want a brain washed like mine?”) and it seems like Aaron’s asking the listener if they have such a hard time getting through life that they can feel the pain he conveys on this record. Like a quiet plea to not be alone in the madness. I feel that struggle every day. I think often about Paul’s words in the book of Romans when he says that nature is groaning. Call it depression or grief or whatever, but that tension and struggle of every day life hits so hard for me. Even though there are so many lyrics I don’t understand, this album has really helped voice some of the cries of my own heart. Especially Michael, Row Your Boat Ashore. It’s been a long time since I’ve heard an album that (cheesily enough) almost feels like a friend. But that’s this album for me. It hurts to listen to, but it also comforts me immensely. It’s one of those “you’re not alone” albums and reminds me that there are others out there who feel like every day is a thousand years. Man, it’s been a week.
for crossover office/why fans, i want a shirt that says " "only those evil live to see their own likeness in stone" - my brother " - lorde edit: guess i don't know how to format it more clearly
This, and Coheed are such strong late year contenders. The only song on this I thought was just a 8/10 was NW,NS. Though yesterday I floated up into the sky when that guitar came in at the end. Now the whole album is a 10/10
She used the line without crediting the band and later mentioned it/apologized on Twitter. Yoni said no worries and they agreed to work together sometime. I think the only thing that’s been heard from that is the leaked song Sway. Last time I saw Why? they played in on the PA right after their set finished.
I like this album alot but I think its only better than AB and Crazy on the whole. Now if it had also had the EP songs recorded for it, I bet I would feel a good bit differently.
I can only confidently put Brother, Sister ahead of it and [A->B] Life behind it. All the others move around freely and are 10/10 albums.
