I don't even own a record player haha. It's more a memento/supporting the band thing for me at this point. I'll probably get my wife to buy me one for Christmas though
I'm 29, and started collecting about a decade ago, but never got serious with actually spinning the records until just over two years ago (which is all documented by my many questions in the vinyl thread here). I have to cancel one of my orders from last night because, well, my wife would flip if she knew how much was currently debited from our account for this. Haha.
I love buying variants or limited editions. But, I only will if it's reasonably priced or one of my favourite albums
I'm finally getting a fancy record player for mine today. Not sure I want to drop $65 on the vinyl but its so pretty.
Fancy is costing me more than $40. I looked up U-Turn and that is far more expensive than what I paid. lol
I used to buy EVERYTHING vinyl, but I've become much more selective, usually only picking up my top 5 from my EOTY list, and even then I usually let everything sit for a while. The only record I've bought that was released this year is PBTT's Wait for Love. I need to pick up Foxing. Only ones released last year that I got are Turnover, Circa Survive, ManOrch, Mastodon, and The Menzingers, and Menzingers and Mastodon were a gift. Picked up the represses for Closure In Moscow's First Temple, and Circa's BSN, because those are timeless records that mean a lot to me.
It's crazy how much better Aaron has become at singing over the years. I love the lower register he has been singing in lately.
Not to get too off track in this thread, but First Temple holds up better than almost any other post-hardcore album released during that time. Should've made them huge. Chiodos got huge instead.
Speaking of vinyl, I have a never used (it was opened) deluxe box set version of Ten Stories if anyone is looking to buy.
The more I listen to it, y'all are both on point with this comparison. Magic Lantern Days is one of my favorites on that album, so it worked out perfectly for me ;)
I was about to say that Magic Lantern Days would fit well on the EP. Still one of my favorite songs from this band.
