It just occurred to me that "Everything Was Beautiful and Nothing Hurt" and "Michael Row Your Boat Ashore" are structurally almost exactly the same song.
i just cracked 300 total track plays from the LP. 700 is pretty crazy considering how recently it came out. i guess to put that into perspective, i've been scrobbling since 2005 and my most listened to album of all time has 1700 plays
still haven't been able to find a decent live video of wendy and betsy which kind of boggles my mind.
From Reddit: "I thought there was a Teletubbies reference on [Untitled], which made sense to me, because Aaron is a relatively new father. The "Tinky's harp on the wall" lyric in Flee, Thou Matadors! . . . and if you search "Tinky harp" you are rewarded with videos of Teletubbies with a harp. But today, I noticed a Tinky Timmons thanked in the [Untitled] liner notes. A quick search later, I learned she is a therapeutic harpist. Introduction to/interview with Tinky Timmons on YT She seems like a wonderful person. It's possible it is also a Teletubbies reference, lol, but apparently this is the primary Tinky to whom the harp belongs."
I kind of wished it were a Teletubbies reference. After finally digging into this album a bit, I agree with the overwhelming sentiment that it's really good.
This and Coheed are kind of my 1a and 1b right now. This is easily my favorite release I went into with no expectations. I have so much bias with Coheed that it's hard to be unbiased when ranking albums the year they put one out.
Was thinking about this today and felt that I should do it. A ranking, first to last of all mewithoutYou songs with names in the titles Michael, Row Your Boat Ashore Julia Wendy & Betsy Kristy w/ the Sparkling Teeth Bear's Vision of St. Agnes Dorothy Timothy Hay The Angel of Death Came to David's Room Let me know if I missed any
