I listen to music at work a lot, but it sucks because I can only have one earphone in so I can still hear shit around me. There are a lot of things I noticed when I first sat down with both in with this album, so yeah.
Like the little details of the the tones subtly coming into the back of my right ear at the beginning of Dormouse.
I think they're a headphones band simply because it's impossible to tell what Aaron's saying without them.
I dunno about headphones necessarily but I’d say they are a foreground band. Not really something I’d throw on as background noise. At least, not while other people are present
Yeah, I’ve never been able to introduce anyone to mewithoutYou. I had one friend, several years ago, ask if this was a Kermit the Frog side project. I. Was. Offended.
I describe Aaron Weiss's singing voice as Kermit the Frog-esque to people whom I'm recommending the band to. I want them to know that, yes, I am aware that it's different, but yes, it is some of the most amazing music in the world and transcends any initial Kermit the Frog comparisons. And hey, I like Kermit the Frog.
I've listened 183 times and have had a lot of other stuff mixed in (new Coheed is at 316) so I can definitely see how that's possible.
If you haven’t slept it’s technically possible to have listened to this 42 minute album 780+ times since it came out, haha! (Early release date of Oct 1st) Sadly I have slept, I’m married and I can’t always listen at work so I’ve only mustered a pathetic 45 times! I am very impressed people have listened to it as many times as above.
Sorry, I was confused - I thought that we were talking about album listens not song listens. I've never multiplied song listens to work out how many times I've played every track, haha! But you're right, in that case I have hit 540.
That's still crazy! I mean, I love this album too, and I definitely need more time in it, but I've listened to it six or seven times. You've spent 32 hours on this one album in three weeks haha. Are you listening to anything else in the meantime?
Listening to an album 45 times in 3 weeks is more than I would usually listen to an album but it is my favourite band. I’ve pretty much only listened to this and Emery’s Eve in the last three weeks (with the occasional Thrice run through too). I walk to work and back which takes 40 minutes each way so that’s two album run throughs. I didn’t listen to the album until the official release date (5th October) so 45 album listens is barely 2 a day. For an important band to me, that’s not massively unrealistic. Also not every listen involved not doing anything else. So yes, 32 hours seems a lot but sometimes I will have been driving or working from home or cleaning the bath or cooking! I haven’t been sat down doing nothing else every time!
