The first song kinda reminds me of like Slowdive or something? It's wonderful. Between this EP and "Julia," I just love the atmosphere of this new music so much.
just woke up to this!! whoohoo. updated initial post with all the updated info. october is gonna be a perfect month for this!!!
I ordered the new flower shirt but, man, wish I could get the version without color as well without ordering the bundle.
I'm kind of new to the whole Vinyl collecting thing. Should I get the 200g White which has like 1000 available, or one of the more limited versions?
Don't really want or need CDs, so I just went with the red and purple color variations. Pretty happy with my choice.
I got the all white bundle, but I think I might go back next week and get the other flower shirt too. I had to grab the album cover tee on RFCs site this morning. I've been hoping we'd get one since I saw the art
Hearing the EP, Julia, and reading the descriptions and press release for the LP really makes me appreciate that they seem to have gone into the studio not trying to force "we should go back to our loud sound" or whatever. It seems they truly just brought everything they had to the table from every genre they're into and made what they wanted throwing caution to the wind. I hope these guys know how much they mean to people. Outside of people in my life, I'm pretty sure I love mewithoutYou more than anything else.
It depends on why you're collecting vinyl. If you're collecting because you're looking for the post-market value, and the rarest variant, then I suggest the most limited version. If you're collecting solely to listen to the records and you want the best quality sound, and you're an audiophile, then the heavier vinyl (usually 180g, but in this strange case it's 200g) is where you should shop. Or you're like me, you don't really know which of these categories you fit into, and you buy both the rarest variant, because your heart says you want it, and the audiophile variant, because you also want the highest quality sound to the record. *Edited to fix up some phrasing.
Thank you. This was really helpful. I'm just a fan of the band, and am buying for the music/supporting one of my favorite bands/wanting to collect physical copies. I'm probably going to get the 200g version.
I tend to end up buying two copies (or more) from my favorite artists, but looking at my email receipts from last night, I know I just need to pick a side for this purchase, as much as I love and want to support the band. Enjoy vinyl collecting! It's addictive, but so much fun to set everything up and admire your collection.
I almost never listen to any of my vinyl collection. I buy them, listen to them at least once, pore over the detail of the art and whatnot, and put it with the others. If anything, I buy them to support the band and have a beautiful keepsake.
Snap, didn't even know about that -- might have to get this one too. Though I'm not in love with the repeated white band name at the bottom?
I go through phases of listening heavily, to just buying to support the band. I like having something physical to show for the purchase, and vinyl packaging and presentation is usually such a great way to fulfill this desire.
Thanks! My wallet/wife wont allow me to get both haha. I'm 30, so I'm starting a little late in collecting, but am enjoying it. I grew up in the CD age so i have hundreds of those, but they arent physically satisfying to keep/display and I just wish I had like a friend or someone introduce me to vinyl back in my high school days.
