did we already discuss the fact that Sturgill Simpson has a track called ‘Turtles All the Way Down’ ??
ohh its an expression and the title of a popular novel too apparently never fuckin heard that weird ass expression before
This just in... Flat earthers now believe the earth is, in fact, a turtle. Claiming, “there’s no way to know for sure.”
Random, but anyone in here ever listen to Oh, Sleeper? Been wracking my brain trying to figure out what Aaron’s vocal delivery in “Michael” reminds me of and it just occurred to me his cadence is similar to Micah’s vocals in their song “The Family Ruin”.
Love love love Oh Sleeper and Micah is one of the GOATs. Not sure if you listen, but Bad Christian just put out a podcast where they interview Micah and Shane and it’s really good
Micah is amazing. I gotta check out that interview. Their album has been due out for, like, two years.
These 2 albums have so much quality on them. I recently down-graded to no smartphone and cancelled my music streaming subscriptions (long story), so I've only been streaming while at work. Cant wait to get them into my car! The dynamics on this one may be the best. After being underwhelmed with Pale Horses, i can honestly say I'm already blown away by this. So incredibly diverse and it all hits hard.
@unbornwhiskey cant wait 2 read!!! cant really put into words how much this album (and Sister Cities ofc) have shaped my year already and attached themselves to moments that mean the world to me. Untitled LP and EP are truly the band at their peak and we are so lucky to be able to witness all of this
Also, this indie band's song [really good live, btw] has the same guitar vibe/intro as Tortoises- Please give them a listen if you like that throwback-grunge genre (Seahaven, Cloakroom Narrow Head, Basement, etc. etc.)
I’m pretty familiar with it as well. I can acknowledge that it’s irrational but still can’t help it. You’re a great writer though, really looking forward to reading your review!
