First listen Wendy and Betsy blindsided me. Didn’t really get too hyped during the roll out. But this is a pleasant surprise. I like the guitar production a lot
I’ve never seen anyone ever talk about Rainbow Kitten Surprise. My wife is friends with the wife of one of their guitarists. I’ve never been able to get into them.
I’m lucky if I can find a band or artist in a year that I like. sometimes it’s two or three years before I discover something else that I really connect with and I’m constantly searching for new music. I see all of these folks (especially around here) hyping up whatever the hot indie or emo band of the moment is and I kind of envy them. mewithoutYou has been with me for more than half my life now. it’s a major component of why they mean so much to me

Black and White showed up in my Discover Now playlist on Spotify after their Mary EP came out, and I was like "who the fuck is THIS?" They had like 2,000 monthly listeners and I could never share with my friends that I loved this band named Rainbow Kitten Surprise haha That first LP is in my top 3 albums of all time, and I think the self titled LP is good too, but nowhere near that first basically acoustic album. The new LP is my most disappointing album of all time to be honest. I tried, but I don't like one song on it. I am happy to see all the success they have gotten though (almost 1.5 million monthly listeners!!!!), they are very talented.
My sister is seriously the best. Bonding with her over music throughout the years has brought me so much joy.
I was finally able to give this some more focused listens the past couple days and finally read along with lyrics and it elevated it a lot. At last it’s really clicking with me. May be making a 3 hour trip to see em Monday. Julia, solstice, tortoises are my favorite, hydra definitely my least. Also to continue the band discussion, this is probably the only band I didn’t listen to at all back in the day but have since started to with the past few records.
Pretty funny coincidence. That's our family dog, Teddy, but he lives with her now so I just associate her with him haha
@Dog with a Blog Btw 75% of your fave albums are what I jammed to the most during my college days, and I can't believe I finally found someone else who thinks The Tree of Life is a cinematic masterpiece. You seem like a good boy I'd be proud to take to the dog park and show off to the ladies.
Dude, hell yeah. That movie man, one of the GOATs. I really need to see the criterion edition, are you familiar with that at all?
I don't know how, but this is the first I'm hearing of it, and now I know what my next amazon purchase will be. You really are man's best friend. edit: 50 fucking extra minutes???? I've never clicked checkout faster in my life
