Would also be interested in knowing what other ideas they had for the roll out of all this material. In that recorded interview Aaron made it sound like his vision was overruled by the record company.
There is so much new music out right now it's hard to find time to listen to everything. Good thing I have almost a ten hour drive to Disney Saturday to take it all in. also how did I not know about this [A→B] Live release with that awesome looking bonus set. Definitely need to check that out soon.
I'm having a really hard time just not listening to [doemouse sighs] on repeat. Already one of my favorite songs they've ever written.
This album is incredible and reinvigorates my love for mwY Winter Solstice might be my favourite track. It’s not by a large margin, though
they fucking killed it live tonight and they played a bunch of foxes songs too!!! Joan of Arc was amazing too
not very familiar with the new record (just listened to it once before the show) but they did play the singles and like 5 more and Bethlehem from the EP
Welcome brother. I shed tears on my first listen at the climax, it's probably my 2nd favorite off the LP behind Julia. But Tortoise is climbing at an exponential rate.
Someone on Reddit posted the merch from tonight's show in Brooklyn. https://m.imgur.com/gallery/rj5vxkq I NEED THAT BEANIE MORE THAN LIFE ITSELF
Holy shit, look at this set list from the comments: 7/29 Dryness and the rain Another head for Hydra East enders wives Fox dream log flume Julia Mexican War Streets Paper Hanger 2459 miles Wendy + betsy Winter solstice Red cow Tie me up untie me New wine new skins Bears vision of st agnes Flee matador Encore: January 1979 Bethlehem west Virginia
That is a phenomenal set. But the amount of [Untitled] songs seems low, or am I all crazy and all false? edit: I guess 8 isn't that low, but goddamn does that make me look forward to 15 years from now when they do an [Untitled] tour
I just did a quick cursory wiki research look and all their albums total around 80 songs (anyone else know a band that has that many songs ALL worth seeing live and cry about?) and it's nuts that "only" 8 songs from the new album would be disappointing in a way. Amazing.
Also, someone who knows how to edit Wikipedia, please create a new page for the EP and LP for this album. Can't believe it hasn't been done yet. Maybe I'll do it if I learn how.
Remind me at some point to tell you about the greatest night of my entire life where Aaron and Mike played a private acoustic set for me and a buddy where we talked between songs for hours.
Just had my second listen today without reading the lyrics. Gosh. It’s terrific, but man is it unsettling. In a good way. But man. I don’t know how they could get more intense or discordant than they get on this record.
