I’m probably 1/3 of the way through the game and I couldn’t be more impressed. Easily a top 3 switch game for me. (Unless it totally falls off as I progress). I feel like the level of difficulty is done right. I died a good amount during the boss fights, but once I adapted and figured out a proper strategy it was such a rewarding feeling to take down a boss. And to me, that’s something I really enjoy in video games. I hate an easy boss fight where I win the first time I attempt it.
Fighting the chozo soldiers always feels weirdly Smash Bros to me. I like that you fight them in little arenas this spear boss though, whatta dick
there are several boss fights that absolutely look like smash, down to the fucking stage design LOL as someone who has played 1.5 games of smash in their life, I thought it was very fresh haha
Yeah I should say I don’t know shit about smash, but the stage design definitely felt like it. Also I just killed spear guy without getting hit, so I guess he’s okay
I was sooooo stuck all day until I finally found the hidden block you need to destroy to get to the super missile room
He gave me the hardest time of any boss so far by a mile. Took a few hours of on again/off again attempts. Was not aware of the sequence break haha

Really glad every major outlet has massively overblown the difficulty of this game, will be great when the next one (if there is a next one) just holds your hand the whole way through
He's mainly associated with the first two Twisted Metal games, Twisted Metal Black, and the first two God Of War games.
“Frantically using every item in your arsenal against every nook and cranny when you get stuck” is like video games 101 shit lol. Seems like the guy just doesn’t want to play the game I just finished it and honestly before I saw his bullshit I was thinking of how much I liked the difficulty — that it never felt particularly frustrating because I could always easily see *how* to beat them, it was just a matter of mastering it. Each new boss/area felt slightly more challenging than the last, and I don’t think I was ever able to beat a boss the first time around, but had to actually learn how to adapt to them.
i think it was a nominal title, I remember at the time it being big news that he had significantly stepped back from the second game and somebody else (Barlog) took over
The most difficult parts in this game are the platforming puzzles for the missile tank++ upgrades with shinesparks Like jesus fuck some of them had me almost pulling my hair out but the satisfaction of completing them was so good Anyway I really like this game and my only qualm with it is it's a bit too linear. I'd like to get lost a bit more
Gave up on my preorder ever showing so I just went into Walmart and picked it up. Glad I did because it was $49.88 in store. Actually that was the highest price for any game, and nothing said they were on sale. Is that always the in store price at Walmart?
