I took a break, but is there something special I need to do to ride the spider magnet above it? It always hits me with a tentacle halfway, which does insane damage.
Agree with all of the above, the bosses so far have been challenging but fair. Haven’t come across anything yet that feels unbeatable. The death/respawn mechanism is pretty straightforward, plenty of save stations, bountiful health replenishment. The map updates as you explore even if you haven’t found a mapping station yet. Not to mention Metroid doesn’t really do currency or the whole “barrage of special power ups/skills to equip at different times” thing I think one thing that fools a lot of people into thinking the bosses are unreasonable is the lack of health meter. It can make a 5 minute fight feel like 15 if you die without realizing how close to the end you were. But that is by no means exclusive to this game
Yeah I'm of the opinion that games should always provide a health meter for bosses tbh. Or at least let you toggle it on or off.
yeah you need to shoot the button on the left haha so basically you shoot his top tentacle with your Y until he goes into a downed state, you shoot the button on the left until the water drains a little, ride the thing on top to the right, shoot the button on the right to drain the rest of the water and then he opens his mouth then you can shoot his tongue with your rockets
After beating the first boss is it cool if I head over to Cataris? Or should I explore more? I’m assuming I go back so
just keep going, most of the exploring happens organically. if there are any glowing white spots on the map feel free to poke around, other than that for your first play-through I recommend let the game prod you into the right direction.
I realized I’m near the endgame when I got the gravity suit + spin attack because it basically breaks the game. Just mowing through every monster
Yeah I think so, I don't remember exactly for Darion but almost everything requires something from the next area to beat the previous one. Vintage Metroid haha
Swear to God I'm about to deduct a whole half a point from this game's overall score for making me deal with an underwater EMMI
Finding the gravity suit is one of the more satisfying Metroid sequences I've had. There's some peak level design in this game
