I haven’t listened to a ton of Metallica since I was in middle school but I’ve been on a huge kick the past few days. Can confidently say …And Justice for All is my favorite.
After like over 15 years I finally crossed these guys off my checklist in DC a few days ago. I was expecting the show to be great but it actually blew me away, I can't believe I had never seen them before. Absolutely incredible experience, even from the nosebleeds
…And Justice For All is my only blindspot with this band and I still haven’t listened in full. Will correct this.
Lars hates Eye of the Beholder so I guess they have like, never played it live but I love it. AJFA is definitely their most technical album. And for all the talk of the production, that crunchy guitar tone is endearing to me lol

Sad But True still goes off. The album was my introduction to Metallica along with St. Anger, which had just come out. Even though it's been years since I listened to it in full, it remains the album I have the deepest connection to. It helps that it soudntracked tons of Gamecube gaming sessions for me and my brother!
I owe a lot to The Black Album. It is one of the first proper metal albums I ever heard (along with Megadeth's Countdown To Extinction and White Zombie's Astro-Creep 2000). My parents put it in my head that metal was "the devil's music"... oh the early 90s. We all had that one friend that was like "check this out" and it was a watershed moment in my music taste. Justin, wherever you may roam, THANK YOU.
10 years old, my best friend trades some Aerosmith CDs to a kid at school and gets The Black Album and Cowboys From Hell in return. I haven't been the same since.
