Metallica Setlist at Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte one of the best shows i’ve ever been to honestly. next to no complaints. lars kinda fucked up the drums to nothing else matters lol and i would have loved to have seen battery but everything else was perfect and insanely cool
hmm. i remember him being stationary during a solo but i don’t remember seeing a pedal or him engaging the wah itself but i might be wrong since i was on the floor and not seeing above the stage
For those who went recently, how was the view from standing with in-the-round stage setup? Did James move his mic positioning throughout the show?
Yeah they made a complete circle of the stage throughout the night. Lars had multiple drum kits that popped up on each side and they would all shift to the next section of the circle and play a couple songs then repeat
i’d say they moved to a different “corner”/setup every five songs or so. i was in the corner they started the show at. i’d say i had a view right in front of them performing for like 6 songs of the set and the other 10 or so they were still visible but on the other part of the stage. lars and james were fairly stationary since the kit obviously can’t move and james is singing but rob and kirk would roam kinda freely
“We didn’t have another band to point to and say, well, Sabbath is using it or the Scorpions are using it. James had the foresight to say, ‘Let’s try it. Maybe we’re the people to embrace it’”: James Hetfield’s tech shows you his 72 Seasons live rig apparently they use AXE-FX so i wouldn't be surprised if it was just an isolated wah pedal on stage, but yeah, seems like everything else is remote
I was at both Philly shows last weekend and it’s put me in such a mood for their music lately. Been dedicating each day to a different Metallica album since Monday and tomorrow’s “St. Anger”..
I've been digging in today after the show last night and don't see that changing anytime soon. Gonna start my rewatch Some Kind of Monster at lunch tomorrow
This will be the first time I’ve listened to anything from that record since 2004-2005, or 20 years. Going in with a new mentality. So far my favorite record on this “re-listen” has definitely been Master of Puppets. Pardon my french but that record slaps so fucking hard, even still to this day.
Pregnant Woman Weighing Ethical Considerations of Bringing Child Into World Where Metallica Still Releasing New Music
Can't stop thinking about them paying Orion, dedicating it to Cliff at the end, then starting Nothing Else Matters and it starts to rain (and only rains for that song). Just an absolutely magic concert moment
the dvd version is my st anger album. their live versions are much better with kirk's solos added to it. and the acoustic versions of all within my hands are fire.
