I’m sloooooowly learning to like Lulu, but “Brandenburg Gate” takes no learning. Awesome, awesome song.
May have to give it another shot. Haven't listened to it since its release and immediately dismissing it.
Very much depends how deep you’re in on Lou whether you can find something to like. Like I said. Slooooow process
I’m very curious about the rationale for the order in which the artists are listed. For example, in what universe is Charlie Puth getting headlined over Mariah Carey.
check the youtubes: the rehearsals dvd that came with the cd sounds much better that the actual studio album. hopefully when their box set releases get to st. anger, they release the audio either on vinyl or mp3. the 'worst part' of that lulu album is that musically, metallica had some great riffs in there. 'junior dad' is a thing of beauty, and the riffage in 'mistress dread' is relentless. alot of that spoken word avant garde type music style just didn't work in some of this album, me thinks.
They were awesome at Global Citizens Festival last night. For a lineup so heavy on pop and r&b I was surprised by how many people were still their for Metallicas headlining slot. They played for an hour exactly, 8 song set very heavy on the Black Album. Maneskin was the direct support for them, which on paper seemed weird to have them billed higher than Mariah Carey and the Jonas Brothers, but now it totally made sense to have the only other rock act build the energy up for the main set
not bad, still have the bass drum sounding like someone is punching a steak but it's part of the charm
Also from releasing a fuck @Jason Tate shirt to opening for Metallica is a hell of a strange career arc
tempted to go see them again but the openers are all TERRIBLE and I'm sure tickets will be WAY more than I'm willing to spend
Pantera would be cool if it was with someone other than Zakk Wylde (I'm personally not a fan), Phil wasn't a bigot, and if it was billed as a tribute rather than a reunion.
