i was driving. i would have gone after that post if i saw it last night as well haha. kill ‘em all rocks and y’all are sickos!
death magnetic has one good song which is one more than load has and it is otherwise a pathetic album that is overcompressed and sounds horrible
Ride Kill AJFA Puppets Black Load St Anger Reload Hardwired Death Magnetic the first 4 (or even the bottom 5... s/t kinda stays put) could all rotate depending on my mood, or what I haven't heard in a while - I've been a fan for going on 30 years, so it's really more about what I'm the least sick of hearing. They'll always hold a special place in my heart, but I honestly don't listen to them much any more bc it's all been overplayed to me.
hardwired is actually pretty good. load above that and st. anger is wild to me if people didn’t have the easy out of the “there’s no bass!” complaint i feel like AJFA would pretty unanimously be #1
Pat I honestly feel sad for you that you somehow don’t like 7 of the following: The House That Jack Built Ain’t My Bitch Outlaw Torn Bleeding Me King Nothing Until It Sleeps Mama Said Hero of the Day
I will add that “Hero of the Day”, “Outlaw Torn” and “Bleeding Me” go from very good on the record to amazing on S&M. Miss you, Jason.
Everything this band has done this millennium is indulgent, that word doesn’t mean anything with regard to Metallica
Agreed. I dig Wasting My Hate too, but otherwise you’ve nailed all the winners. Reload is definitely the one saddled with more of the “junk”, the first four tracks off Reload (and maybe one out of Carpe Diem Baby or Fixxxer?) jumping over to those selections from Load would have made a remarkable single album, IMO.
Take those 8 and swap “Low Man’s Lyric” for “Mama Said”. Add Fuel, Unforgiven, Memory Remains, Better Than You, Where the Wild Things Are and Fixxxer and that’s a MONSTER of a 15 track album
If you want a rich metal band that actually helps people instead of suing them, listen to french progressives Gojira.
I guess I'll sub to this thread. Song that's been stuck in my head lately: "Through the Never." That one has some solid riffs for the album it's on.
Ride The Lightning Master of Puppets Black Kill Em All ... And Justice For All Load Reload St. Anger I wanna check out Death Magnetic and Hardwired soon, kinda want to revisit Load - SA first since I've listened to all the old ones recently
