I was so happy it was on that Wednesday. I am leaving for Rockfest that next morning. Going to be a good week.
To people who have gone already and had GA tickets... How early do you think I need to get there in order to get on the rail? I have an Unforgiven Experience VIP ticket. Hoping that line will be shorter/quicker/enter first but I want to ensure I can get to the front.
There is GA & the GA PIT. There is plenty of people on the FB event pg trying to get rid of them. That's where I had to get mine.
Man, the STL show on Sunday was a blast. They are without a doubt the loudest band I've ever seen. Their set up and production was great. Their set was really good, could have done without Now That We're Dead. Even with the tribal drum part, it was still kinda boring. The biggest surprise were the songs Halo on Fire and Fade to Black sounding the best. I wouldn't have expected those to sound the best live out of their set.
For people that have seen the show how did you feel about the intros to Hardwired and Battery not being played by the band, having it played over the PA and then having the actual band kick in later on in the song? I thought it worked for Hardwired, even though I would have liked it better if they had just actually played it. I didn't like that move at all for Battery though.
If I have General admission field tickets to Orlando, how early should I line up to get a decent spot?
I'm trying to find out the same thing. I'm thinking a couple hours before the door should be enough, especially if you're not deadset on getting baricade, but if you find any other info from people who've already gone, please let me know.
I wish there were more Metallica fans on these forums. I'm going to the Dallas show on Friday and am having a hard time containing my excitement. I've already seen the band 7 times, but the excitement never really fades for their live shows.
This was the only time I had seen them and my excitement was through the roof. They sounded so good and were soooo loud. After your show lets talk about their set
Headed to the A7X Philly make up date in a couple weeks, never been to the venue or surrounding area, hows the parking situation?
Shitty. Expect to pay $20-25. If you're traveling home via the Ben Franklin Bridge, consider leaving a few songs early, too
Yup. I was reluctant to even go to the show since it was at Jerryworld, but I've been obsessed with Metallica for the last 23 years, so I bit the bullet and got a ticket. I knew it was gonna cost me an arm and a leg, but it should all be worth it come Friday night around 9pm.
Yeah, the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. I've been to A LOT of concerts in the last 20 years and I've NEVER paid more than $20, even at giant stadium shows.
It's so awesome that the band puts out a live video from each tour stop, as well as their live set on cd for you to buy. I'm thinking about getting the one for my date, has anyone ever bought one? Does it sound good? The "case" from their site looks like its a cardboard sleeve with just a paper cover wrapped around...
I bought one in 2008 for the Ozzfest show I went to in Frisco. From what I understand, the sound quality is supposed to be pretty awesome on the ones now, but the one I bought sounds great so, I can only imagine... I think I went with the mp3 version, which I eventually burnt to a CD. It came with album art and everything though, so I was able to print it out and make a nice looker cover/case. I'll 100% be buying the CD for my show tomorrow.
So it wasn't until about 9am this morning that I read online that they were gonna start giving out numbered wristbands starting at 6am and then people could line up numerically starting at 2:30pm. So I rushed to stadium, got #443 - Kind of upset I didn't get there earlier, but we'll see what happens...
