And that's be honest, the I Disappear repeat riff Kirk was doing kinda lame lol. It started out cool but he never really went into a solo, just kept that opening riff going lol.
Yeah, it's just that every missed note or flub is immediately apparent. It's pretty amazing when you do hear something straight off the board and it's spot on.
I was with a friend who loves that song and he started freaking like "I never thought that'd play that, whoa!". Pretty funny fake out.
Same. Has nice little touches like James messing up the intro of Fade to Black and having to start over
oh hey I went to this in Seattle they played The Memory Remains in that one rotational spot And Whiplash as their Kill 'Em All song And Battery as the first song of the encore These were all of my last choices for those spots lol
I agree with not wanting Memory Remains lol, but you didn't want Whiplash or Battery? I think Motorbreath was the other Kill Em All one and then wasn't Blackened the one being switched out for Battery?
I definitely didn't mind Whiplash or Battery, but I would have preferred Jump In The Fire/Motorbreath/The Four Horsemen (my fav song) in the one spot or Fight Fire/Blackened in the other. Blackened would have been so tight live.
I was happy have gotten Blackened at my show, but I was hoping for Whiplash or Four Horsemen over Motorbreath and Creeping Death over Memory Remains
I went to Atlanta and they skipped the Kill Em All slot. I was wishing for Motorbreath and got nothing
Oh, I had no idea they were switching out the encore opener with Fight Fire with Fire. I would have lost my mind if they had played that. I also didn't know the Kill Em All slot had Four Horsemen, that would have been sweet too!
People still listen to Metallica? Figured they were on the county fair circuit with 38 Special and Survivor by now.
Even as a 38 Special fan, that statement is ridiculous. Metallica continues to be number one baby! I think they were the only rock act to have their album go platinum in the last few years too....(?)
Or maybe even look at the venues they're playing or how much they made this tour. The band is by far and away the most popular metal band still going today.
Metallica is just the go to metal band to make fun of. There are some legitimate reasons they get shit on, but overall they're a solid band with an EXTREMELY loyal following that continues to stay relevant 30+ years into their career.
Are they? I have never heard of that before. What are their legitimate reasons? The Napster stuff doesn't count because Lars was right lol. St Anger is all I can think of.
Personal gripes I have with the band (mind you I still love them): -St. Anger -Lars' ego -Lars is a lazy/unorignal drummer and honestly their music could transcend if they got someone new (look at videos from when Joey Jordison and Dave Lombardo filled in for him). -They have this huge legendary back catolouge of music, but still perform half of the black album at every show (this one is really minor honestly) -Oh also Lulu (I am the table)
Even James gave Lars a hard time when I saw them, saying something along the lines of how they were just a metal band with average drumming lol
