i really wish there was a way to make this thread a “safe space”. i kinda thought that was the intent on first blush, but…

dude, a week ago i was admittedly getting a little combative with some old posters in the politics thread and NFL thread. then one of the mods actually referenced some of the stuff i said in here in there, then banned me from both of those threads.

 

if it is who i think it is, not worth engaging with.

 

not a safe space. in a safe space, all are always welcome. no one gets banned, everyone is worthy and brings value, and no one gets deleted.

 

I wouldn’t say a safe space is one that is welcoming for “all” at all times. There are limits. Everyone’s got free speech, but not freedom from the consequences. If you’re in here saying things that are disrespectful, hateful, and adverse to the point of this thread then I’m more than happy to see those posts and/or users removed.

It’s the same logic when conservatives joke about the “intolerant left”.

 

hard for me to judge, seeing as the posts were removed. having one mod unilaterally make the call doesn’t seem right. and in a space like this, not one of the joke-y threads, it’s way more important to be thoughtful and transparent.

 

sure, or when the left makes jokes about the intolerant right. racism / discrimination comes from all directions. including y’all liking each others posts but excluding me. i see what’s happening.

Sorry, but I disagree with this. If the right is being “intolerant” of others based on race, gender, or religion, they shouldn’t be welcome. Not the same as liking different shit like films or albums.

Again, you need to educate yourself further before posting this kind of thing. There has not been this particular issue in this particular thread up until this moment so maybe pause to consider that before responding to tell me that it’s only because I’m in an “echo chamber” or some such. This kind of shit does not belong in here.
