I'm on effexor. I've had no side effects I'm aware of. SSRIs never worked for me. They didn't make things worse but also didn't make things better so he wanted me to try a different class. Mine is a bit different because I take it along with mirtazapine for sleep, which my doctor said also increases the effectiveness of effexor. But I've def not had as severe depression/anxiety since being on it. I used to get a lot of dread and depression which sort of immobilized me and I'd lay on the couch a lot just sort of paralyzed with dread, and then made the cycle worse because I'd feel shame and guilt for being immobilized. But I haven't had those issues since being on effexor.

I’m on it. It helped at first but it’s been so long since I started that I can’t really notice anymore, if that makes sense?

I did try to go off it in 2019ish and holy shit I’ve never felt so insane in my life. I don’t know how else to describe it other than I truly thought I was losing my mind. My psych was like “well, that’s just some of your anxiety and depression coming back!” and let me tell you it was NOT that. I went right back on it and have been on it ever since and probably will be forever.

  3. That sounds exactly how I felt last week when my Zoloft was doubled. Couldn't remember what I had done a few hours before, constantly disoriented, sleepy, itchy. Felt like I was going insane.

I was on Effexor for a few months but I was also not sober and on several illegal things so I truly have no idea what effect it had on me if any.

Effexor made me extremely on edge and irritable. I stopped taking it after a few weeks

I literally have the worse luck. They’re renovating the apt upstairs and full on gut everything and they want to transfer me because they said it’s going to be super noisy and they worried about my cat. There’s no 1 bed avail and it will be a 2 which is a little more than 100 a month. I’m already struggling. The asst manager said she was gonna try to see if they’ll lower it a little. But just when I try to save, something goes way up

If they’re making you move they should charge you the same price for whatever apartment you move into.

Job fired me for taking a leave of absence to deal with the loss of my mother/adjusting to an SSRI. Had full paperwork, doctor's notes, approvals, and then 2 months AFTER I RETURN to work, they fire me sighting that some of the days were not excused. They told me I could reapply if I wanted lol. So now I am on unemployment with no clue wtf to do with my life. I swear, it is always something fucking you in this world.

The move is not voluntary. They have to pay the difference.

Agreed, I would check if it qualifies as lawful termination because it doesn't seem like it does.

Also I really like how they told you could potentially work there again as if you wanted to after they pulled shit like this.

    Companies can get fucked.

They asked if I was willing to transfer. It’s not like something leaked and I had to so idk. They worked it out and I got a slightly bigger unit with everything included (w/d, w/s/g, pet rent) for a little less than what I’m paying now). I didn’t have a w/d before because I couldn’t afford it. The style of the unit isn’t exactly ideal of what I want, but it is less rent. I worry about my cat with all the noise if I were to stay. The unit is on the other side of the complex. I just hate that I have to move stuff

The way rentals and housing is handled today is just absurd. I can't believe this is the world we live in.

I would love to own a house one day. But I don’t see that for me ): it sucks more because being single means paying for everything on your own. And CA sucks ass and housing is out the ass

I’m on Long Island and the other day my best friend sent a Zillow listing to our group chat for the house across the street from her that sold for 1.4 MILLION. And then she went on about how happy she was her and her husband bought when they did (about 3 years ago for 900k). All while knowing I still live with my mom in an apartment lmao. I’m actually very proud of myself for not going off on her because what the fuck. Some people truly live in a different world.

So I saw the unit I’ll be transferring into. They’re going to fix it up with new carpets and paint, new bathroom vanity etc. the w/d is a European style and where it’s located basically takes away a huge portion of cabinet space. On top of that I’m loosing a bunch of storage space already and I hardly had any to begin with. I don’t feel like it’s much bigger except for the patio. So idk what I’m gonna do.

Theres an apt complex I found that has cheaper rent and I’m interested in looking at it. If my complex gave me enough notice about the upstairs renovation, I would have just moved out. I probably have to sign a new lease and I’m going to pick the shortest term. I don’t want to live here anymore. It’s been nothing but unluck.

when i first moved in, I almost didn’t have a place to live anymore bc the guy living in the unit I was suppose to get, changed his mind after putting in his notice and bc covid just started, they couldn’t kick him out. Wanted me to take a unit I absolutely didn’t want. Let me stay in a 2 bed for the price of the 1 bed until one opened up so I can transfer. Well they forgot and I had to remind them that I’m still waiting to transfer so I didn’t buy any furniture. I transferred and I had horrible behind neighbors. Now I have to transfer again to a unit I don’t want bc once again no downstairs 1 beds are available (I can’t do the stairs). I already have minimal storage and I’m basically losing it all. I’m probably just going to buy a cheap mattress and sleep on the floor bc I don’t want to renew my lease. I’m done with this place. I’ve been through so much that is unnecessary

For what I get it’s expensive too. It’s not worth the price. I like the location I live because everything is close by. I’ve been thinking about moving out but again it’s so hard when you’re by yourself. I also hate the fact that I have to change my address for like 10 different things.

Sorry for the constant posting in this thread. Looking for new apartments that I can afford alone is so hard. Either it’s in a bad area or people talk about crime and drug use. I lived in a bad, crime area before and not going back to it. Also there is an area where I won’t live again. I want to get out of this town/area so bad. I feel trapped. But everywhere is expensive.
