I think that's how it should be. each person makes their own money and should have their own accounts. Its 2022 not 1947, lol.

Yeah I am fine either way. Happy to have it shared and happy to have it separate. Just whatever she’s most comfortable with.

Okay I've been trying to have a better attitude and outlook and nobody told me that it's all about being completely delusional. Like I'd heard "fake it till you make it" but I feel like I'm having to create an entire alternate reality to be happy. Oop.

And also I copied and pasted that paragraph from my notes app and accidentally pasted it into Google somehow and the first result article headline thing said something like "what's it like in a depressed persons brain?" Oopx2 I feel attacked

Been thinking on and off about this for a few days and not sure the best thread to put this in but figured this one might work.

The new Dahmer Netflix series came out this week and a bunch of coworkers were excited to watch it and I probably will watch it too because I “like” true crime stuff and whatnot but idk it kind of randomly hit me that it’s gotta really fucking suck to be someone’s loved one or friend or whatever that was impacted by what Dahmer did and you just want to relax and watch a movie or something and turn on Netflix and get blasted with it and see that it’s the #1 thing on the app right now. Idk how I would react if I was a family member of a victim and I’m sure some days would be better than others but goddamn that’s gotta suck and be brutal to basically never escape it and know that others are either learning about it or “enjoying” the art around something like a serial killer.

This isn’t a knock on anyone who has or will watch it and not anything against those who made it - there are hundreds of series and media on killers and such so this isn’t something new, but for some reason this week it just hit more than ever before that for those people living in the aftermath of events that are less than 40 years old, you can’t really ever escape it and then one day you might get blasted in the face by it by discovering a whole goddamn series was made about the guy who ruined so many lives.

Edit: I know there was a conversation in a thread somewhere about this kind of topic not too long ago, maybe that’s what made me think of this.

Having another day where life just seems completely pointless. I feel like all I do is work and have no time to have any hobbies or do anything I actually enjoy. Yet I'm still poor!! Can't afford a house bc I can't get approved for a mortgage that is actually realistic. Like I am paying way more every month in rent but nope!! Won't loan me enough!! Yet I can't afford to go rent in an area I actually would like to live in. So I feel like I'm working for absolutely nothing bc I can't afford anything that would actually make me happy/better my life anyway. And I have nothing else going for me so what really is the point? I wish I knew if this was all life was going to be for me bc if so, I'm tired and want to be done.

Not sure if I posted about the day date I had like the last Saturday of July and then like 2 days later the guy completely vanished.

Well, he messaged me Saturday night and explained why he vanished. And, as someone who has been focused on just herself for a long time, His reason was just that. He had to focus on himself for the time being, and I 1000% understand and support that. However, I did express to him that the right thing would have been to simply say this wasn't going to work out now until after he moved and got settled and blah blah blah.

I decided that I wanted to talk face to face and he was actually in town visiting his mom so, Invited him over. We had a great talk, it wasn't weird or heated...Just two scared AF single people who really like each other but are....scared.

but god damn it I like him....Like A lot! I haven't felt this way about anyone since October 2020.

I'm still going to keep my wall up, but I'm down for a restart and so is he. No pressure, no labels, just two scared fucking morons trying to figure out this thing we call life.

    The Ramen saga continues:

Just sitting here at my desk minding my own business, when someone says "Oh hey look, 25 ways to make ramen. You love Ramen Julie"

To which i reply "Actually, i fucking hate ramen, but its all I have right now. Food is food"

I'm sitting here feeling my entire face turn red because its fucking embarrassing and why do I even have to explain myself?

    LEAVE ME ALONE!

A lot of the women on my team eat in their cars. I don’t know if it has anything to do with comments like this though.

I'm just so over it. Why can't people just leave me alone!?

I'm just going to not have lunch during the week. Let them fucking talk about that.

People always comment on how early I eat my lunch (around 11:30 sometimes, always by noon) and it’s so fucking rude. Someone did it to me today! Like sometimes I just want to embarrass them and say “ha yeah I always make sure I eat when I’m hungry because I spent years starving myself!” but I can never bring myself to do it lol

I like a late lunch. But who would possibly care what someone else prefers? People are gross.

Yeah, whenever I’m in the office for work I make sure to eat in private. Comments from coworkers about my eating habits are definitely one of the reasons why.

Well I decided that I'm just going to change my eating times during the week.

When I worked for Clarks customer service, I did the 10:30am-8pm shift. I would eat breakfast around 11am, lunch was at 4pm and I would eat dinner around 8:30-9pm. And since I do a few hours of instacart after my regular 9-5...this makes sense.

Now everyone here will think I just don't eat and I hope they keep their mouths shut.

  19. It's so ingrained in our culture that it honestly feels hopeless. The person who said something didn't mean anything by it, and they actually donated to my wedding registry so I feel like I can't be upset with them. They're a great coworker. But why the actual fuck would anyone need to hear about how much thinner I looked in high school. It's an absolute day-ruiner for anyone that's a trigger for, and I feel like that's more people that some might expect. Just sucks.

sounds like a good person who just put their foot in their mouth

people say things and rarely think it will matter to the other person but there are things people said to me years and years ago that I still replay in my mind. hopefully this person realizes how thoughtless that was and apologizes but if not: do your best to let it go. I say this as someone who is trying to get better at that all the time but it's very hard to do. best of luck

I wish body neutrality was more of a thing. Even body "positivity" where you think you're giving a compliment can be harmful and triggering and bring too much attention to someone. You never know what someone is going through. People need to mind their business
