Attending my first Middlesbrough game of the season tonight. I'm historically a terrible omen for them - barely ever see them win. Top of the League, unbeaten, good chance it ends tonight!

All week I thought this game was at Everton. It being at Anfield makes it less interesting.

 

Was meant to be flying home today so I’m watching this game on my phone in a rammed airport bar. That goal was so good I couldn’t even seethe about it, so fair play.

 

Welp, game over.

 

I think this ref really dislikes Grealish considering the other 21 players on the pitch can seemingly draw a foul.

 

That was lovely by Everton.

 

I’m rooting for Everton, but I also benched all three of my Everton players in fantasy because I’m not that hopeful, so it would be awesome if they get a result without my benched players being involved.

 

Charlotte has qualified for playoffs. The club sent out pricing for season ticket members for each playoff round. And it’s absurd. My seats are typically ~$55 per game. The first round playoff game they’ve priced at $235. Absolutely not paying that. Last year the playoff prices were like $30 more than our regular season games. No clue why they’ve decided to make them over $200. And it of course gets more expensive each round.

I’ve seen a lot of STM saying the same thing. Everyone opting out of playoff tickets. Such a terrible look for the team right when we’re at our peak on the field. It’s a shame.

 

Is the price being set by the league?

When Tennessee was in that “might host a first round CFP” window last year, us ticket holders got an email that basically said “you get first choice at your seat(s), but the NCAA is setting the price not us.”

 

Not sure. The email doesn’t say anything about who set the prices. But I wouldn’t be surprised either way. The league is greedy. And the owner of the club is greedy.

 

Frank with an interesting lineup today. Xavi on the bench is a surprise but I still like the setup. Midfield looks a little more on the defensive side and should be strong. Just worried about goal production.

 

Pure greed. Are Charlotte fans savvy enough to protest?

We are such a new club it’d be hard to organize something like that. We have supporter groups and they seem decently organized. But would be surprised if they were able to get a protest together.

It’s also just not something American sports fans do. We usually just take it because if you don’t like greedy capitalism you’re a commie.

 

American sports fans don’t protest really like that, unfortunately. America doesn’t protest much in general, really.
