I’m biased but I think caicedo is world class. There aren’t many midfielders in the prem I’d take over him, tbh.

 

Spurs have to do something today. The fans are losing it and tomorrow is a friendly against Arsenal. The overreactions are going to be out of control.

Really interesting info in The Athletic about the Arsenal striker search. Apparently Sesko had doubts that he could come in and displace Kai Haverz.

This is quite easy imo, other than midfield. Got four players for three places and leaving any out feels wrong lol.

I struggled most with keeper tbh lol

And I know it’s current form but Rodri still gets in for me. CBs and attacking mids I could be talked into a couple others.

 

if you want to waste even more time, may I propose you head up a yearly Chorus Soccer thread best XI and what that might look like? We could all propose our own and then have a vote or something?

I think this could be fairly easy to do.

We could set up a google voting form thing and list a handful of guys for each position. We do rank voting.

 

For sure. Doing individual awards could be fun too (league mvps, best newcomers, manager of the year, etc…)

My bias shows a bit, but Inigo has been wildly under the radar since switching from Athletic. It’s more difficult than I thought it would be. I’d say every position is probably 3-4 deep in “world class” and I can see arguments for a fair amount of players.

Something like that, although I've definitely shoehorned Mpbappe in lol and i'm not sure if Rodri will still be the same titan of a player he was pre-injury and should probably have gone with Vitinha.

 

I think Rodri, when healthy, is definitely the best midfielder in the world. But until we know if he's back, I went Vitinha for that reason... I also think Haaland is the best 9 in the world, but Dembele was the better striker last season specifically.

 

I'd have Joao Neves over Vitinha.

 

Meanwhile, every young guy who gets a Chelsea offer is like "yeah I'll be starting, thanks" and then you forget they're on the squad.

Kanw gets the nod over Haaland for mecause he contributes more outside of scoring, and I doubt this team struggles for goals lol.
